I generally prefer Saf's videos about wacky fashion, but I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that her videos are longer. Buzzfeed tends to keep theirs short, whereas Saf has more time to play around with the clothes and be goofy.

Jordan Link Saf started this whole trying on crazy clothing for a certain amount of time thing from what I can see so buzzfeed seems to have copied her. So far most of the video's I see first on her channel and than here, I might be wrong, but I don't think so.

Maybe it's time to realise and accept that Safiya and Boldly / LadyLike exist in the same space. Therefore, inevitably and often, their content is going to overlap. Don't forget that Safiya used to work for Buzzfeed - but do you see Buzzfeed complaining about Safiya choosing to create videos that Boldly / LadyLike will likely create too? It's almost like saying that a beauty guru who reviews a Dior mascara is copying another beauty guru who did the same thing. They just simply exist in the same space.

honestly saf & ladylike & buzzfeed make all the same content, but I didn't see anybody complaining when a beauty guru did a "full face of highlighters" and people started copying it. If you think about it, buzzfeed kinda made Saf big on youtube.

There's a difference between doing a challenge and copying an original idea. (people who did the highlighter challenge always referenced the first video). also, buzzfeed was a platform no doubt, but Saf made buzzfeed and not the other way around cause every bit of content she had a hand in was the best on the channel. that's why she has had youtube success while others who left buzzfeed have flopped. So consider this a segment on a talk show, and another talk show does it. that's plagiarism, no? I mean the format is identical. YEs buzzfeed do testing videos etc but this is obviously a copy (In my opinion at least) Didn't mean for this to be this long but I just really dislike when original content is exploited

Sara Hamzeh nah it really isn't different. Most challenges don't actually get labeled as a challenge until everyone starts doing it. For instance, Millie T's $5 Ebay dress video isn't labeled as a challenge on her channel, other people MADE it a challenge. And without Buzzfeed, nobody would probably know who Saf is, just like we don't know all the everyone in the world but we know celebrities.

I don't see buzzfeed/boldly or ladylike the same since Saf left.. She was the brains to so many videos and never received the credit & I personally don't think it's right. I'm happy for her decision of leaving & proud for doing so well alone..Buzzfeed should do more original content rather than basing videos on what she does

Cat Evergreen thank you! Saf may have left buzzfeed, but she still records and edits as if she never left. Which makes sense since she got her start there. She probably learned a lot and retained the things she learned from them, ya know?

Alonso Mondragón other people on KZfaq have done this way before Saf ever joined buzzfeed too. So like it's not like Saf came up with testing weird products and fashion choices. People will do similar things sometimes.

Thank you! All these comments are so damn annoying. People seem to put Saf on this pedestal and it's ridiculous. What most don't seem to realise that it's way easier to create content for a (mostly) one person channel than something like Buzzfeed. It's not like people at Buzzfeed can just go around making videos and spending money whenever they feel like it.

I really wish people would make the effort of learning how much time, money and effort goes into these videos... It's ridiculous. This is the first time that I feel there'd be any ground for the "Saf did it first" accusation. But it would still only hold true when comparing Saf to Buzzfeed. But nope, let's put her on this pedestal that she can only fall off harshly from one day, instead of recognising that she isn't the first to do something, she just knows how to market her videos.
