@Dwight Cook yeah the writer tried to make everyone incompetent so that Sarah and the main charecter could shine. Hes a marine sniper, literally trained to think of your rifle as a part of you. He should also know that 9mm has the benefit of having more rounds then a 45. Allowing someone to put more rounds on target and have a better chance if they miss a fast moving target of firing again and hitting.

All Corbies such as Crows & Ravens are truly very loyal and generous friends ....BUT...... do NOT piss them off...they Can be very vindictive enemies...and they have the memories of elephants ...They recognise faces and cars...When crows drop nuts in front of me, I make sure to step on them and break them open, as does my husband. But I’ve seen people throw the nuts back at the crows to try to hit them...their walk to work is no longer pleasant...for YEARS...and YEARS...I’m not even sure it’s the same crows! I’m so glad I’ve always had amiable and cooperative relationships with them and we have an accord ....We get along very well.

Old cartridge .45 cal with 70 grains of black powder. Hence the 45-70. For something that big in the swamp I don’t know why they didn’t go with something like a .50 Alaskan express or simply a 12 gauge with a rifled barrel and slugs.

If the young lady was not up to the task, and not everyone is, they should have left her back at the main camp. I'm very sorry but the world isn't all, "butterflies and buttercups." @blackmantis1511 4 жыл бұрын
@@morgothastartes Correction, the character in the story doesn't shoot it because of "boner power." I don't shoot it because looking long term capturing it is objectively the better decision, because we can more about it's habits and behaviors, as well as learn how it moves through an area allowing us to place agents in similar locales so that they can track one if it shows up BEFORE it kills anybody. Also, capturing it will give us a chance to learn why it killed those people, was it territorial, or maybe it was out of desperation from lack of food sources. This information is useful because then you can take proper measures to prevent this from happening again.

Good story- but I definitely feel like I’ve heard this scenario in at least a dozen other incarnations... “I kill the things people fear”, “I scavenge roadkill snd cryptids”, “I’m a CIA agent that hunts Chupacabras”, “I work for the government as a vampire slaying gas station attendant that kills Skinwalkers every third Saturday of the month”... etc etc... Lol it’s still a well done story- well narrated of course- but it would be great if the authors could maybe create more original material instead of recycling the same premises...

If chupacabras existed the last thing we should be doing is hunting them because that would be really really stupid...thanks for the comment!

It's actually pretty hard to create original content. As a complete novice to the writing world but have dabbled in it. Original ideas are kinda like cars. You can make em look different, make em sound different. Paint them different colors. But at the end of the day they're all just engines with 4 wheels.

The initial setup for this story kind of reminds me of *Primeval* (An old gem that deserves far more attention than it get's!). . Somewhat fragile (And mildly stuck up/unprepared) Desk-guy goes around hiring people for Government-Employ . Most of them are more rugged than him . The Hire-Ons come from varying fields of expertise . The Hiring guy is kind of annoyed by them . The plans and strategies go a little wrong, and the improve which comes from these road-bumps has absolutely no right to be as successful as it is at the end of the day

@@youknow3881 I just googled it and I meant the camobeast. I am not quite sure if it was an arc or just one episode, but it is where these kids break and enter in some "abandoned" mansion and get all killed exept one (if I remember it right). The other future predators are kind of tame in comparison but these things just creeped me tf out....

Why? This was hot garbage. Mr. MarySue tundra tracker who somehow knows everything about swamps and is always the most useful, his clumsy damsel in distress love interest who doesn't want to hurt monsters, a sniper who forgets his weapon, a yokel with a boat who somehow stays with the "team" after they leave the swamp, and a desk jockey FBI agent. This was like a shitty homebrew DnD campaign where the DM uses his self insert NPC to drag the party around watching how great his OP character is.
