Oh my gosh, this is just lovely -- such a terrific match of Carson and Greta's ups and downs with the almost elegiac-sounding version of this song. (And yay, Joy Oladokun!)

lol I had to look up 'elegiac,' as I've never heard that word used before. I feel like that song has great contemplative beat, slow and steady, and like it's giving Carson a path to follow as she's trying to figure herself out. I love Joy's reimagining of this song because feels so inherently queer, this soft hymn to the girl you love that isn't flashy or loud, but constant and yearning and carries all the feeling and sentiments in a way that I imagine women from the forties had to: muted and soft, but bursting with emotion. That and joy's ethereal voice made it make sense to me. Thanks for watching! I feel like we've circled each other for a long time, I know your stuff from way way back in the vidding world, so it's a bit of a treat that you left a comment. 😃
