I use to work for Northrup Grumman Ship Systems. All the LPDs built in our New Orleans shipyard had to be move to the Pascagoula Mississippi shipyard also known as Ingalls to remove the mud out of the bilge tanks.

few thing to remember when running the marsh. 1. learn how to trim your motor when your running shallow. 2 Pipes every where inside the marsh see yellow go with caution trim up as you go over for caution. 3. jackplate is a bonus as well for getting that motor higher to get around with piece of mind. last but not least __ Mapping chart for gps will help you out ten folds get back safely.

Brian, Glad no one was hurt from the impact. It's a bummer, but insurance will fix the engine, if you have insurance on that boat. (If not, that's a BUMMER) Glad to see you getting in on the saltwater action. I discovered it years ago, and now I've almost forgotten how to bass fish. Actually started looking at your videos to get some tips, since I live right next to Lake Anna where there are tourneys all the time, but always drive 2 hours away to get to saltwater. IF you ever get near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, could get you in on much bigger reds that those little pups you were catching. Sometimes, we get spooled. They get big here, 30, 40, 50 lbs routinely in the spring, and up through about june. We catch them on 7 Bass Assassins and a jighead, but most guys throw bait. SO much more fun on a jig! Nothing like getting into a mess of reds ,we get nice ones up here in the tributaries going into the Chesapeake bay.Out in the bay we get them after turning into big red drum which they are bigger but they don’t fight like the smaller 4lbs to 8lbs, nice video guys glad you didn’t get hurt 👍🎣

I read about an experiment that was conducted on several fish. They hooked the fish in several places where they thought the fish would not be able to get rid of the hook (deep in the throat, mouth, under the chin, etc.) In every case the fish shook out the hook within 2 hours.

You will need a new motor. The shaft is most likely warped. Sorry that happened. This happened at santee cooper with a friend of mine. He didn't loose the whole prop. It messed his motor up.

You handled that way better than I would have! I would be sick at my stomach and unable to fish or enjoy anything else for the rest of the day.

That sucks! Good time to have VHF and Seatow or BoatUS, especially with sketchy cell reception. I have a new 24' bay boat with Yamaha 300 that I took down to Fl Keys tarpon and shark fishing in May. I was a nervous wreck worried about the shallow water down there. But thankfully my electronics mapping was spot on with contours, depths and objects.

Just found your channel while I was researching G3 boats. I like your style so I subscribed immediately. Sorry about your lower unit, but it could have been worse. People may not have noticed, but at 17:15 I was amazed at the stability of the boat when you were jumping up and down on the bow. I use a golf glove on my off hand to help me grab a hold of angry fishes like those Reds you were trying to boat. Golf glove protects me from teeth, except blues, and has saved me from hooking myself deep more than once.

Dang so i just missed you in my home town !!!!! Venice is amazing and i run aground more than any man does i can promise you that ! I didn't even know the pipes could only be 6 inches under the water holy cow ! now i guess i know so thanks to you!. Glad you caught some redfish it hasnt been the best year due to the high water. Last year I went to venice and hank parker was doing a show with a prize winner and one of camera boats told me to follow them (little did i know id be in a bass boat with 6 foot waves lol) But when we finally got to the spot which was a sand bar loaded with a million redfish.They Would eat any top water you would throw and the redfish would be climbing over each others backs to eat the bait. Cool experience !
