Good thing you're talkin about broken chords ( arpeggios) which a jazz musicians has up their sleeves. I saw some lessons of B.B.King here on youtube and he certainly knows his arpeggio's, phrasing and strong melody. A good thing you also mention, there are no shortcuts" so guys learn your arpeggios over the whole instrument and in many keys

Corey,, another fantastic course. This is exactly what I needed. Your clear demonstrations of the left hand fingerings is wonderful. I have already found that I was hitting snags by trying to stay locked into a 1-finger-per-fret approach and that was clearly like tying your shoelaces together for playing arpeggios. Great job,, buddy!

Good resource, excellent explanation for beginners. I already knew the shapes (and a few more of my own), but wanted some more sophisticated ways to practice connecting arpeggios to make my blues sound more musical. Cory outlines the main shapes and gives practice examples against metronome and going through the cycle of fourths (for me, this alone was worth the price of admission, since it helped me really imprint it for the first time in my brain; I have a chart on my wall but it never made intuitive sense before this). Then he jumps to etudes that combine the arpeggios of the one, four and five chords of a blues progression …. All up and down the fretboard. If I had one, hopefully constructive, suggestion it would be to first do a lesson on connecting single chord arpeggios all up and down the fretboard first (highlighting particularly bluesy licks), and then a lesson on moving through the arpeggios of the three main blues chords in each position first, before jumping ahead to the more complicated etudes. Justin Sandercoe has a nice lesson on moving through arpeggios of a blues progression in a single spot, so I already had that under my fingers for position one, but I need first to be able to move from position to position up and down the fretboard with greater fluidity before tackling Cory’s etudes.😢. Meantime I am trying to do 1,4,5 arpeggio progressions in each position.

You talk about playing the minor pentatonic with the don 7th arpeggio but doesn’t the major pentatonic fit too? I mean why chose minor over major? Thanks

I bought the book. It's good to have the arpeggios and some pieces to set them to. But I have to say there's no explanation of how to convert the arpeggios to licks/soloing. Corey obviously is brilliant at this - but even suggestions about using chromatic notes and slides (which has now been explained by CC) would have been good. I find this with many books/videos. I learn runs and scales but I'm not told what to do with them. I guess you have to experiment, but even some tips about HOW TO experiment would be useful - when to change direction during runs etc. Not being negative here because the the book provides exactly what the title says - and well.

Thanks for jumping into the Ebook, Philip! Indeed, the Handbook is JUST a reference manual for sure. I created it as a companion to go with the many lessons I've taught on these arpeggios. In all my years, I've never seen a "manual" of sorts that shows all of these arpeggios in one place with practice routines like the use of vamps, metronomes and etudes. For those interested, the intro video mentions this as well. I'll provide links to some lessons that should expand on the Dom7 arpeggio topic even more! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i7mqhqtlup_Rdmg.html kzfaq.info/get/bejne/htZygZyZ1qivnn0.html This free collection of videos contains many arpeggio lessons working-class-guitar.teachable.com/courses/enrolled/1792849 My course Complete Blues Volume 2 has some fun solos that have arpeggios as well Here's a 40% off coupon if you're ever interested. @@coreycongilio Thanks for all your instruction and those links - if I didn't enjoy your tuition (I've bought your TrueFire courses too) I wouldn't have bought the course. Funny you should say you can't talk & play. I can't sing & play. On acoustic with all the chord enhancements no problem. I earned my living doing it for 7 years. But playing blues rhythm with fills & comping etc I struggle. One or the other, sing or play.
