Waku Waku 7 is a fairly simple but cool game, for people that doesn't know characters in this game are pretty much parodys of other popular character or thropes from the time, Mauru is an obvious reference to Totoro for example haha This game can be played in Fightcade 2 with a fairly active community. There's good resources like a complete wiki, training mode and bi weekly tournaments haha

These animations are godlike.

A gem for the animation alone. Used to play Slash and try to be nice with it but Politank-Z was just soooooo much fun. Like an SNK variant of Sentinel but with a Ghibli vibe.

13 year old me had fun playing this in a local arcade. Still looks fun today. There are the Warning special moves that are slow but powerful. And dandy-j is so obvious who is being referred to.

when I discovered this game it was my favorite fighting game for a while, eventually beat it with all the characters! it was really advanced in the mechanics and had great art! this game is a parody of a ton of anime. good stuff.

Waku waku IS a weird game. But looks like fun. I would die a happy man if you did the hardest difficulty on Art of Fighting 2.

I LOVE Waku Waku 7. Before WW7, I was a hardcore Capcom (Street Fighter, MvC, MvSf etc.) fan.. this is The Game that pretty much broke SNK Ground for me. After this, I started playing KoF97, and then fell in love with The KoF Series. All because of this Game.

Jesus, I can't imagine trying to pick up and learn these games on Level-8.

Nice to see playing Waku, Justin. It's like all are saying: Waku Waku is weird, but really simple when you understand the game.

Everyone in this game has an unblockable Level 3-esque move, as they do a whole lot of damage (it even says "Warning!" on the screen). The drawback it's that they have pretty long startups and can be interrupted. But the final boss just gives the middle finger to such rules, as his super comes out instantly and can't be interrupted (while still being unblockable!), as it has armor (it's that rolling super move he did a few times) Tesse is more like a zoner, but her gimmick it's that her item throw move gets more and more powerful as long as she holds it. The EX version of said move can get pretty ridiculous if you let her hold it fully, since it becomes chaos. And her Level 3 is pretty cool

I never knew what this game was until now. When I was a little kid, i bought a CD-RW with a busted, giant Mugen roster, and one of the characters was "Fernandeath" and i loved him. I never knew where he was from until now. He's more busted in this game than he ever was in Mugen tho

So THIS is the game that cute bunny girl is from. Also the last boss is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Got me cryin from laughin so hard. XD

What I will say is...I REALLY loved how creative they got with the Boss Fight, in terms of making you grow Super Giant. I honestly think more Fighting Games should do something Super Creative like that!

This is the first fighter I played. I CAN NOT pull of the ex special attacks. i love the art style tho.

I can remember playing this game in the arcade. I also had a for the Sega Saturn. I absolutely loved how quirky this game was.

The secret to this game is spam the ex moves and the gold power up mode as meter builds crazy fast. In gold mode you do inflict much more damage AND also take much less damage, and gold burst works great as an anti air or reversal. But you want to not whiff it or you can get punished by a good player. At higher level turns more into a meter resource management game where there’s lots of far distance zoning with the EX projectiles mixed with rush down with the gold power up mode, and it revolves around trying to use resources and gold burst to your advantage

This game aged pretty well, I was Main Slash back in the day.

I used to play this as a kid on arcades near my house, and had also recently started playing it again on fightcade As a kid I found super funny the boss name was Fernandez (Mexican last name) but later I found out it was a Japanese play on words as the last part was pronounced like death

Check out Astra Superstars, it was the next (and I believe last) fighter that Sunsoft made after Waku Waku 7. It was on the arcade ST-V board, which was identical to the Sega Saturn which it was also ported to.

Waku Waku 7 is my favourite fighter. I have such nostalgia for it from playing it in an arcade near where I went to college every morning. I play as Mauru. It'd be great to see you play this in a tournament where you don't have to worry about AI nonsense.

If i remember correctly you can activate a certain power mode once you've filled all 7 waku bars, but i couldn't remember the button combination it's been too long since i played this.

There is a fighting game that it has a strange but very fun mecanics and i used to play too much! If u wanna give it a try its name is "Operation Ragnagard" Is very old but as i said, has a fun mecanics! By the way, has an impossible difficulty and I NEVER defeat the boss... but is fun!!.
