in the peak of my DDR career I couldn't even pass Max 300... The hardest song I COULD pass was Healing Vision angelic Mix. But for some reason when ever I attempted Max 300 my brain would perceive the notes traveling faster than they really are and I would think to tap me feet faster than I needed to. I would love to try and learn again but there are no good machines anymore where i live :/

What's ghost stepping?

​@@fav843 It's stepping on sync with the song on an arrow (or even in the middle panel) where that step doesn't exist. Example: On a song you're playing, there's a part where you step only on up arrow every third beat of the song. So instead of waiting one-two-THREE where you only step on the arrow at three, you ghost step at the middle panel at ONE TWO and then step on up arrow at THREE. That way, players can maintain their timing even when there are gaps between arrows. But on this video, Chris has demonstrated amore advanced ghost stepping. What I explained were the basics of ghost stepping. At 1:08, there a freeze jump arrow for both left and right. * *(I don't know if you're a DDR player and/or familiar with it but you can take your feet of the hold/freeze arrows as long as you put it back quickly. Otherwise, you'll unable to gain the score from holding it on it's full duration) * Instead of Chris just simply standing on the hold arrow and waiting/anticipating for timing of the incoming arrow after the stop, he is repeating the step pattern's timing that preceded that very hold jump arrow. He had realized that the first step after doing that whole particular timing sequence is the exact timing where you press the arrow after that arrow hold. Also that is easier said than actually doing it. Ghost stepping is only an effective tool if your steps accurately enough.

bought my extreme arcade for 500. old cabinets are on the way out and doesnt hurt to ask bowling alleys or wherever their asking price. around 1-2k for a decent machine. but a decent machine from a bowling alley is rare, they always have something wrong with them. Dirty as hell, brackets are off/sensor issues so the pads are undersensitive, etc. Easy fixes. Anything more is a rip-off. Gotta put in that spit to make it butter but it's worth it.

my main problem now is that my movements feel kind of sporadic, and I lose stamina during songs that are faster and that have more jumps (i.e. drop out).

Dgraham13 I have two major problems. I move way more than I need to (although that doesn't really have to do with transfering to an arcade machine) and sometimes I slide my foot from one panel to another, which you clearly can't do on an arcade machine.

I hate the arcade. I dont weigh enough. I hit the arrows, but they never register unless I stomp on the stupid thing. Its like... why bother?

Halo Nyanko that has to do with the sensors not being sensitive enough you can mod them with tape and it will greatly increase sensitivity

the entire point of the video is to show that using the bar or not doesn't mean anything... chris ALWAYS uses the bar in all of his other plays, but does this to prove that he can play just fine without it.
