I can see that Joel married a very young woman who is still experiencing her path in her youthfulness and wants to give to the world and bloom. Joel is a husband that knows this and lovingly gives her the space to grow. It will be a wonderful thing when these two focus on a family. God put them together and they know He did. What love and patience God gives them to endure the separation during this time because of their careers. I know because my husband and I are physically separated often but God Jesus is in our life and we have been married 25 years. My recommendation is to laugh often and not take everything so seriously. It is not your job to be perfect but love the perfect Holy One. Love to you both for representing beauty of the heart and spirit. You both are a treasure.

She was only 17 when she met him, she did not know who she was at that age when she stepped into a very adult mature relationship. She has to be able to change and grow freely with Joel

This is so deep 4 me. I've waited 4 my 1 & only... Maybe he's stuck at a bus stand some where... but this relationship taught me that yes, God will give me the strength to wait 4 his choice 4 me & it'll be exactly right.

There is a "happiness" that is defined by the world but then there is an indescribable joy that exceeds that happiness and only found when you turn to Jesus. Living second isn't foolish. It isn't crazy. It isn't sad. I am not a "poor Christian." It has been an incredible honor to live for Christ. I've never felt such joy in my life. With Jesus, I am whole.

I love how transparent you two are with each other and others. Over coming a deep hurt in a marriage, no matter what it is, is not easy, but with God in the center it can be over come. My husband and I just had our 10 yr anniversary, but 7 yrs ago I didn't even think we were going to make it to our 3 rd. Broken trust on both parts and hurt played a big part, but I knew from day one he was the one God had for me, even though it took him proposing 3 times before I finally said yes. I was terrified of making the wrong decision because I had gotten married young and divorced. I fleeced God, I know you're not supposed to, but I couldn't trust my heart at the time, and the answer came very loud and very clear. 10 yrs later there are no regrets.

So, of course, I don't know these people, and I'm probably gonna get blasted for this post, lol, but I've seen several interviews of theirs, and it often seems like he's trying and working so hard, and she's still trying to figure out who SHE is, what SHE wants/needs, establish her place or position ... just me, me, me. He's been so open about how smitten he's been with her from the beginning while she's quick to share that story, pointing out her feeling like he needed to get over himself a bit. You know that thing people can do: "I am determined not to be another admire, or whatever, because you've got so much of that going on already." (rather than to just approach the person kindly, openly, and graciously and just get to know the him/her in order to form an opinion that is actually based on something real.) It reveals a certain insecurity. I wonder too if the fact that they are both musically inclined might even stir somewhat of a competitive thing in her. The body language was weird too. She was guarded, distant, cold, unavailable. He was, again, TRYING-- going "more than half way" to extend his arm and hand to her, reassuringly, affirmingly, reaching for connection, unity. I don't mean to judge her and, because marriage is such a sacred and special thing, I do hope for a blessed journey for them, but I couldn't help feeling a little sorry for him, only bc the thing she may need most can't be supplied/fulfilled by him. That's a God thing for sure.

@awwkay 5 жыл бұрын
Just from what I know there is an uncertainty that comes with dating someone older. Especially since she was so young when she met him and when they got married, you begin to doubt your wants and your needs because you both are in different mentalities and different times of your life. With that uncertainty it can cause someone to feel a little guarded in a relationship and cause doubt, and that's where I believe she is coming from. As she has grown and matured she is still figuring it out and learning, as we all should in every aspect of life. At the end of the day relationships take work no matter if you've been together for 7 months or 7 years. But allowing yourself to be vulnerable and open with your partner is what they are trying to convey..
@sarahmenzel3737
@sarahmenzel3737 5 жыл бұрын
TOTALLY AGREE. She’s gone through like 6 professions; it’s time for her to realize that most people know her because of her husband’s band. And if I was in that position, I would be very insecure too. She should just accept the tour wife life and stop trying to reinvent herself. Also, why would you marry someone if you weren’t totally willing to commit until TWO YEARS after you’re married?!?

Ive noticed this too very often. He seems to always be the one reaching out and she often seems uptight. Theres a video where they're on stage & he reaches for her hand and she's making a fist & never relaxes her hand! he holds her fist...I also feel he is the one really trying. They are such a beautiful couple and I wish them well.

I know y’all weren’t really trying to be spiteful or mean, but I think at the end of the day we can’t just assume what’s going on, because we don’t know the full story the only person who does is God. All our journeys in Christ is gonna be different but gonna end up the same result being closer to Christ. Which is the amazing parts, since we’re all different but are trying and being molded to be more like Christ. I’m not saying y’all are totally wrong or right, its just that we can’t make assumptions based on clips, interviews, or moments we might have seen them because we won’t ever know the whole story. Like to quote FK&C , God only knows ( lol 😂 the song stands true) what’s she’s been through. Whatever career she’s pursuing be it music or anything else let’s all hope she keeping God at centered of it just like her marriage. Grace and Peace Fam❤️

Why do I feel like she completely distorted that story of how she first met him ... and then he calls her out on it when he comes in and I was like uhm .... ...... .... she literally made it sound like their was a line of girls waiting to get this guy's attention or like get his number and it was actually family members trying to say hi to him ... that would annoy me so bad and then she is quick to say ... it was love at first site FOR HIM ... like she's kinda being a snoot and it's just so disingenuous and off putting to treat the love of your life the man of your dreams YOUR HUSBAND like that ... like bruh 😒 it's cringe worthy lol hopefully it was just the editing trying to make it more dramatic but anyways just my thought .. also I knew Moriah growing up and she wasn't stuck up at all I used to go hiking with her and my sister and our other friend Jaime but that was a long time ago... so idk why I got a weird feeling from her in this interview
@mariemichaelson3477

That's understandable, it did seem like her parents didn't teach her that she is worthy, like bad relationship there. And really love at first sight? It would be nice to know how they walked through struggles together. And experienced more emotions, it just looks so glamorous from the outside, which isn't realistic. Something just seemed off.

I think the way she told the story kinda negative, has to do with the marital scars that have clearly took place in year two.
@moseleyfamilyadventures9954
@moseleyfamilyadventures9954 22 күн бұрын
I felt the exact same way. She was trying to make it look like all these girls wanted him and begged for his attention, but she was the only aloof one in the room, where this "Prince Charming" fell in love with her because of her looks. "Love at first sight for him." Why are you going to not tell the truth in front of the camera? There was no integrity when she thought he wasn't around. Then when he was around, she was surprised that he heard her, acted embarrassed and scared because he knew she wasn't truthful and he called her out on it. So yeah, there was no integrity and that totally ruined it for me. All his family was there. Why couldn't she say that? She had to embellish the story and turn it into something it wasn't. Making it sound like a bunch of fans were there and out of all of them he picked her. That wasn't even the truth and it made her look arrogant. Then she tried to make herself look wise and redeem herself after that with other things that were said. I could relate to some of those and they were well said. First impressions are everything. After that first incident, I was disappointed. I thought I was going to see a mature Christian lady with charisma who is sweet and humble. That's what you usually see with these interviews. She changed a lot when Joel showed up and it improved from there. But really, if she told another story without Joel around to hold her accountable, I wouldn't know if it was the whole truth.

I am so disappointed. Once again, I didn't hear testimony of how they each came to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord of their lives. I'm not knocking their openness about their marriage and dealing with hurts. But I wish at least one of them would share what Jesus means to them. Why else would they be on this channel?

I Am Second is doing follow up interviews to their original white chair interviews- in this case Moriah's who was engaged at the time of the interview. I don't believe the goal was to share testimony of how they came to faith but rather what that looks like navigating life and in this case marriage. Joel has been asked in early For King and Country interviews where he shares his testimony of coming to know Jesus as Savior as a young boy.

Seriously, look at them. Both are the epitome of what a woman or man wants to look like and want in the other sex(not necessarily the skin tone, but being attractive). There's no way she can ever feel like she may not be good enough. Just looking for sympathy, yet anyone that is less attractive than the guy sitting next to her, she'd never even consider holding a conversation with, much less date or even marry.

@Sarah Menzel - shame on you for this comment. We've got young girls listening to testimonies like theirs and comments like yours make young women fearful giving their hearts away like Moriah shared. Her husband thinks she is good enough. There was nothing she said that implied 'marriage is the end goal of Christianity." If you are insecure in your own relationship(s) please take it to the Lord and leave it at his feet. In so doing, perhaps God will do for you what He has done for them.
