One of the most underrated Games of the NFS Series. The Run was sooo good. But the best are still MW 05, Carbon & Prostreet. Heat is the best of the "new" one's . Shift and Shift 2 are also underrated but they are more like GT ^^

I don't count QTEs in a racing game as "nice concept" + it took away the feeling of you picturing yourself as the driver like the previous NFS games by giving a face (a generic one at that too, not even a badass one!) to the driver L game through and through

i am still wondering how the run doesn't have a sequel, i beat the game on extreme lately and it was intense and fun, i dont know why people dont like the game i understand that the story is small but the game is fun and thats all that matters. sorry for making a whole paragraph about that lol

Unfortunately, people will always compare any NFS to the best ones. And if they aren’t as good / better, then in their eyes, the game is trash. The Run was a very enjoyable game. Would’ve loved a sequel or something like it in the future

Hot Pursuit will be in my heart *as i see The Run* Is that nature collision events?! (I mean, random events in nature come colliding to make it challeegne and eventful in a stress full and awesome way) I gotta check that out... Edit: After some research, I gotta say it looked interesting, the quick time events with the cutscenes, are super awesome and interesting Plus the police and the gang trying to capture you, is a good combination The drifting looks as hard as a rock, I was hoping for some good drifts to glide onto the road, but it looks so hard to follow once you feel yourself drifting along to the road

NFS : The Run ftw I think no other game comes close to its sound design, drifting accuracy and background music. Thats my personal opinion. Also a short story and honestly it felt like watching a movie.

I played 2003s Underground on my PSP using the neighbors UMD. It was such an awesome game and I didn’t ever want to stop playing. It got me hooked on racing games. I never memorized the title and the memories were forgotten until I saw the short clip in this short. The nostalgia trip down memory lane was intense enough to nearly bring me to tears. Thanks for that.

@@trvpmusic2569 yeah maybe, many people liked rivals, but i personally didn't like it much, it was too Lineae, and it didn't at all feel realistic, it was legit more like a "play tag racing game" The original NFS games were kinda like Fast n Furious... But more racing, building rep, and building your cars up. I mean, one of the things i REALLY loved from the games i mentioned, were this: You have 3 or 5 classes of cars You have to buy a class1 car, as you race against class1, class2 cars, you build your car up to compete with class3-4 cars, until you eventually have to buy a higher class as to be able to compete with the TOP class cars, then you build up your New car, you eventually manage to save up to buy a Top class car yourself and build that car up to tops, and all that while having a pretty decent story going on. Those were the good old games that i really love, if they all could recieve Current-Gen Remasters, with improved physics, graphics and Damage, then I'd buy them all double priced. But these new games are cr*p if I'm being honest.

Also older NFS had combination of both cities and scenic landscapes so you need really learn the history of the real NFS era before you spew nonsense, and it didn't have the same repetitive story from Underground to Carbon of "Becoming the the world's biggest ricer"

Sure, Ventura Bay, for example, was pretty fun, but the hatred towards rural-ish roads makes 0 sense when you consider the name of the series and the so desired crowded walmart parking lot. Plus, both dailies and exotics look prettier in front of a waterfall (imo lol)

Honestly 2015 was pretty enjoyable. Payback was alright but definitely a step back in some ways, but heat and unbound have been genuinely just not fun. Rivals was great, and I wish they kept going that way, though 2015 gave me hope. Payback kinda disappointed me with the customization system being what it was.

NfS Hot Pursuit 2 - NfS Carbon, as well as Undercover, World and Hot Pursuit (2010) were my childhood and I love them to this day! 🥰 The Run looks as interesting as ever. I didn't buy it due to negative reviews reporting frequent game crashes on Windows and due to the heavy focus on the QTEs in EA's marketing, which gave me the feeling like they lost touch with what the player wants, but now I'm thinking I really missed out and wanna get myself a copy! Need for Speed II was the first NfS I ever played, at the daycare after school. I absolutely loved this game, 8yo me wanted it for christmas, but got NfS Hot Pursuit 2 instead. A disappointment that was immediately replaced by amazement the second I started playing. First game I remember beating on my own (rather than playing through with my older brother). I finally got myself a copy of Need for Speed II SE five or six years ago, but haven't been able to get it running neither on Windows 10, nor on my Windows XP machine built from Win 7 era hardware. Finally been able to play this game again two months ago, after I switched to Linux. Like most old games, it just runs without a hitch in Lutris, thanks to WINE and community install scripts! It's a fun game, but not as exciting/magical as I remembered it... "Most Wanted" (it does not deserve that name!) 2013 was shortlived fun, but ultimately a big disappointment in the long run*. Great car roster, but every single of them handles terribly - especially with a steering wheel, they all feel like freaking boats - and the tuning system is horrible, forcing you to do the same races over and over to death! There are already far too few race events in that game and then you need to restrict yourself even further to get the rewards you need! 🤦‍♂️ *Same story with NfS 2015 and Heat: fun for a few hours, but motivation/fun faded away after a few times playing it. I didn't even complete them. MW13 at least kept me going until I played through the story and then quickly became boring with no desire to replay it, but those two games... nope. Which is a crying shame, because they have all the features and the setting I have been longing for from Need for speed for years prior to their release, but the gameplay is just not there.
