Just political theatre by Blackford. Sturgeon was found to have misled the Scottish parliament and didn’t resign. It’s not about honour, it’s about political survival. Blackford is and always has been, a joke. The fact that he is right about this is more a testament to Johnson’s failings. The PM should resign, just as Blackford should eat a salad. The vote of no confidence in the First Minister brought by the Tory's in the Scottish parliament was defeated by 65 MSPs - 31 MSPs. Only the Tory's voted in favour Labour and liberal democrats abstained. The committee that was investigating leaked information like a sieve. With members like Jackie Baillie Labour saying that the first minister was guilty the day before the First Minister gave evidence to the committee for 8 hours. Murdo Fraser Tory also said that the First Minister was guilty before all the evidence was heard. The committee split down party line's. If you were a Tory member or an MP, you could say that this was a stunt. However, you have to admit it was a successful one. Then you have to wonder how many more opportunities is Boris giving for such "stunts". Personally, I am delighted. It was quite nicely done. He gave a nod to May first, and then ripped Boris a new one. Yet, in doing so he never lied and never lost anyone following him.

Johnson is not merely a liar, he's a mass murderer. 150 thousand British people have died needlessly. All Boris Johnson had to do was stipulate that nobody could enter the UK, a country surrounded by water, without undergoing quarantine. Instead, he pandered to a handful of wealthy individuals with stakes in the airline industry. A responsible police force would be investigating the PM for these entirely avoidable deaths that occurred while Boris Johnson was partying instead of taking his job seriously.

I understand inadvertent to mean not deliberate or unplanned. To say that Johnson inadvertently misled the house means that he is not culpable. To add it was "inadvertent" makes it a very different statement. What is the accepted way to suggest someone is deliberate in not telling the truth in the House of Commons?
@revadarius2594
@revadarius2594 2 жыл бұрын
You cannot. It must come out by other means. The rules are extremely outdated and it shows. I understand it's for debate, but it the rules are there to protect those with self interests by acting if they have none. Such as the case with Boris Johnson, and most Tory MPs for that matter.
@verabolton
@verabolton 2 жыл бұрын
@@revadarius2594 Rules seem to be different it the House of Lords where Lord Lansley, the former Tory health secretary, said: "Sue Gray's report did not extend to the question of what was said to the House of Commons by the Prime Minister in relation to these events over a number of months." Pressing the Tory Lords leader, Baroness Evans of Bowes Park, he added: "Can she say when and by what means the Prime Minister is proposing to correct the record for the House when it was inadvertently or otherwise MISLED?" So, the House of Lords clearly states the PM didn't tell the truth. Why must it not admitted in the House of Commons?
