As a longtime Priest fan since the 70's, I'd much rather see KK and Ritchie in the band than a touring guitarist now that Glenn's role is diminished. Any chance to get an original member back, especially one like KK who still has the chops seems like a no-brainer. The rift between KK and the band is pretty minor compared to the drama some other bands have gone through and put behind them.

Seriously, Ms. Andrews sounds like one of the damn, power hungry harpies who are on a ABSOLUTE POWER TRIP and they have total control over the men and they wanna keep it that way, those kind of women are witches, who are all about power, control and manipulation, seriously Priest have really been castrated by their new manager.

K.K. is a founder member of Judas Priest. Glenn is struggling with health issues and I totally respect that. Sadly he can't perform but I am glad that Glenn is still recording, but without Glenn and K.K. there are no Judas Priest. K.K. and Ritchie would be great. I think they must burry the hatchet and get back together.

The magic of Judas Priest is the interaction between Tipton and Downing. They had a chemistry between them that can't be duplicated. Rob still seems to have a good range still. I think it's a stretch to call Ian and Rob Judas Priest, but I am considering going to see them next month anyway. My concern is ruining the memories of seeing them in the early 80s

In my opinion KK does belong back in Judas Priest. It definitely doesn't look like it will ever happen. The new Judas Priest album Invincible Sheild is PHENOMENAL! I have already listened to it at least ten times and it got better with every listen. I love every song on it, but at the moment I still love Firepower more. Firepower was instantly amazing to me, and Invincible Shield is a grower. I feel like Judas Priest is doing better these past few years than they were 10 years ago. The Firepower tour did way better than the Redeemer Of Souls tour did in my town. I guess every town is different. Also love KK'S Priest as well. Love both albums big time.

it's hard for me, I grew up with Priest and Maiden these are my top 2 metal bands of all time. I've seen each band 2 times and loved the shows. I also like K'K's Priest I thought both of his albums were great. For me the original Priest members are KK Downing and Ian Hill, as they started the band. As for Rob if memory serves me he was the third singer they hired and third member to join. Anyways, to avoid an argument Priest for me will always be KK Downing, Ian Hill, Rob Halford and Glen Tipton. As for drummers take your pick between Les Binks, Dave Holland and Scott Travis.

I love Maiden, but I love Priest waay more! Maiden were so dead in the 90s until the reunion revived their career as it did for Priest, a couple of years later. imo they were pretty level at that time....Then something happened and Maiden took over. Maybe it was the genius of having a timeless mascot in Eddie?

When did Iron Maiden take over? In the 2000's? Yeah it may be true, but since the 2010's Judas Priest have been releasing MUCH better albums than Maiden who release like all the songs consisting of prolonged intro-, outro's and guitar line mimicking the vocal line....its very boring sry to say that. Current Maiden is boring as hell. It hurts me to say that

I remember when they were doing their bogus "farewell tour" and K.K just decided to leave the band abruptly before the tour even started. It seems like K.K isn't all that careful about what he says or does since I can understand why the other members would be annoyed over him doing that. Still, that's no reason he shouldn't be in the band nowadays. Faulkner's a great guitarist, but neither he nor Andy Sneap have the huge personality of either Downing nor Tipton. Oh, and as for the Maiden vs. Priest debate, I'm pretty diplomatic as I like them both equally. Gun to my head... yeah, I still like them both equally, so you're gonna have to shoot me. :P

KK had decided to go along with the tour after all and Ian agreeingly sent him the setlist to rehearse, but the very next day the rest of the band published an official statement that KK won't be on the (bogus) farewell tour. KK felt very mistreated, disrespected and betrayed once again so he sent some angry letter to Ian of which contents we don't know, but he has mentioned some kind of demands and unprofessionalism on Rob's part and of course Jayne and Glenn. Glenn's problems even go way back to the beginning: JP's first drummer quit because of Glenn. Ripper Owens has said KK's grievances were legitimate problems. KK has clearly tolerated so much through the decades and when he became fed up, the rest of the guys wouldn't tolerate him expressing his dissatisfaction and since then they've been lying about the things that happened. They must know how bad it looks when people get to know all the facts, but KK has still kept quiet about skeletons we may hear about later.

All millionaires want people to come crawling back to them even other millionaires. KK wasn't going to kiss Jayne's butt. She's too high society and isnt humble at all . She put out a press release bashing KK after the hof gala and then went on a interview tour saying the same Conceited nonsense over and over again. She's basically another manager wife as the gf of Glenn Tipton. Also backing tracks and sampling is spot on for a Judas Priest show plus all that goes on to doctor up live recordings. Judas Priest is a corporation. . Ian Hill knows that but fans dont and only know British Steel and the Richie Faulkner era because its more accessible to their sensitive ears.

a TON of trash, really? I watch all JP drama and KK talk I can but the pieces of meat in them are so small in my opinion. It's not that bad and big. The same thing just repeated and then one band member to the next being offended or mis-/ over-interpreting the previous one, so it's swelling but not revealing more unflattery than KK revealed in his book. But why shouldn't KK have the right to reveal the circumstances why he took a step back and then was ousted by the others as long as he is factual and fair and also acknowledging the positive in others? The crux of the problem seems some others could not and cannot stand their issues being 1: addressed 2: addressed publicly after they refuse to be dealt with privately. Also, there can be a ton of things KK still hasn't revealed. And all of these problems are so rocknroll cliche no one is shocked or cares really. KK spoke behind the scenes stuff after he was unfairly ousted. What else can be expected? If certain members weren't so touchy and proud, their bitterness could still be washed away.

KK Downing and Ian Hill were the founding member of "Judas Priest. KK Downing approved the decision for "Glen Tipton to actually join the band. It turned out to be the best career decision of his life. KK Downing wrote 80% of the album "Rocka Rolla" But Glen Tipton wrote more songs unassisted than anyone in the band. But Glen claimed they were all involved in the writing process. KK Downing has been my favorite guitarist in the band for his eerie, sounding whammy bar effect. But Glen was far better for the melodic solo's. Together they were a serious force to be reckoned with. I also agree with you on the "Management" decision wasn't a good choice. Because without KK & Glen, you end up with the "Papa Smurf, Halford" band featuring "Ian Hill" on bass. And for the record, "Judas Priest" is a far better band than "Iron Maiden," IMO. I liked every album up till "Turbo" "Defenders Of The Faith" Sucked ass. At least that's what I think!" Great job covering this story. There's so much more that could be covered on this topic. But it's a false narrative though created by the toxic ones left in the JP Music Ltd. corporation. KK did not really leave the band on his own because the whole band was supposedly retiring. They were going on a farewell tour which KK didn't wanna partake because of problems he describes in his book. He even reconsidered and talked with Ian to join the tour after all and Ian sent him the setlist to rehearse. But then the rest of JP published a statement that KK is out, which made KK angry and he wrote Ian some angry letter. Later the rest of the guys want to continue JP recording and touring without KK. KK took a step back for legit reasons. They had unresolved issues but instead of resolving them, those guys and that woman rather had KK frozen out. Egos didn't want to deal with their issues. So he didn't quit a band. He stepped aside from a bad project of a retiring band. Then he was shut outside by those people. And they decided to continue with JP after all. The fact that KK himself had brought Rob back makes the whole thing that much worse looking for the guys in the JP Music Ltd tribute band.

It was JP's farewell "we're all leaving now" tour he didn't wanna partake because of real legit grievances some of which Ripper Owens also has testified to. Then KK had decided to go along with the tour after all and Ian agreeingly sent him the setlist to rehearse, but the very next day the rest of the band published an official statement that KK won't be on the (bogus) farewell tour. KK felt very mistreated, disrespected and betrayed once again so he sent some angry letter to Ian of which contents we don't know, but he has mentioned things like some kind of demands and unprofessionalism on Rob's part and of course Jayne and Glenn. Glenn's problems even go way back to the beginning: JP's first drummer quit because of Glenn. KK has clearly tolerated so much through the decades and when he became fed up, the rest of the guys wouldn't tolerate him expressing his dissatisfaction and since then they've been lying about the things that happened. Then the band decided to continue after all a'la Kiss, Motley Crue etc. The way KK is framed is lies by bitter liars.

Putting aside our musical preferences for one band or another, the fact Is that Iron Maiden Is a bigger band than Judas Priest since A Piece of Mind. They're an stadium act anywhere (except for US, they go for Arenas). A great example of this Is when JP came down here In Brazil a few years ago and needed Pantera as a co-headline to a place that has an 8000 capacity, while Iron Maiden does back to back Stadium dates by itself...

I like Iron Maiden, I mean what Heavy Metal fan doesn't ? But you've got to realize that Maiden have a distinct sound, not as distinct as Motorhead or AC/DC yet they've always retained that sound; you can take the 1st Maiden album and even on there you'll find progressive stuff like Transylvania, then go all the way to the last Maiden albums and they've merely expanded on the progressive side. Also Maiden fans tend to not give enough credit for the vast Priest influence on Maiden; its no coincidence that both bands have 2 lead guitarists, and that Priest invented the harmony leads in Metal, and then Maiden simply copied it (although in my opinion in a far less melodic and exciting way). The point is you can play any Maiden album and you recognize the sound, even with different singers: Di'Anno vs Dickinson. But when it comes to Priest there a huge difference in the way their albums sounds. Rock a Rolla, doesn't sound like Sad Wings of Destiny at all, Sin After Sin doesn't sound like Stained Class, and Stained Class doesn't sound like Killing Machine. British Steel although somewhat similar in duration of songs again doesn't sound like Killing Machine. Actually, the only 2 albums that had a similar sound were Screaming for Vengeance & Defenders of the Faith but that's were the similarities stop. With Maiden it would actually be hard to find a Maiden album that really sounds different from any other. So one has to recognize and give credit were credit is due, since Priest were ambitious and daring in trying to experiment with new sounds and styles. Just listen to something like Jugulator, it doesn't even sound like Priest, lol, or for that matter Demolition, to some extent this also goes for Turbo, and Painkiller is way too fast and heavy for Priest. Iron Maiden never made a Painkiller like album, for example. In other words, Iron Maiden played it safe since their debut album !!! Of course commercially speaking that served them very well, but it doesn't speak for a band to use the cookie cutter approach for every album they make in their long career. I know a lot of Maiden (die hard) fans are now going to give me the finger, but just go about it in a non emotional and sentimental way, and I honestly don't see (or hear) how you can deny what's so obvious. And yes, I may be slightly biased as Priest is my all time favorite band, and they got me into (Heavy) Metal when I was 14 years old, but I am still not deaf, lol.

Priest needs better song writing. It seems to me every since KK left there doesn't seem to be any innovative song writing. This last album, for me, a bit of a disappointment, a few not bad songs, but nothing memorable. Unfortunately. I don't hear the dualing twin guitars. Shame, a real shame.

If anybody got lucky in Judas Priest, it was Ian Hill. Not an outstanding bassist or even a songwriter. KK called out Tipton's wife. Any band that has a band member's wife running the show is a recipe for disaster 'cos it's a conflict of interests. Think Sepultura for example. KK's new album is stronger than new Priest so he's thrown down the gauntlet & is now a fair competition rival to his former band, I'd say on an equal level & Priest is fair game! Personally I prefer Iron Maiden 1980-88 over Judas Priest, but it's kind of pointless comparing them anyway, I like both & I'm cool with that. Neither KK's Priest or Judas Priest have any original members for the record. But hearin' ya if going on first album 'Rocka Rolla'.

The whole appeal and uniqueness of Jp, was the writing team of Tipton, Halford and Downing . Downing is one of the original members with decades of contribution to song writing and incredible solos. Ian hill wrote what ? One song ? Idiots had a chance to remotely call that band Jp with KK, since Tipton is pretty much done health wise. New album is overproduced and full of dubs and it sucks .

Who knows for sure how much power Andrews has except her & the band but there's been plenty of times a pushy manager has controlled too much of a band. K.K would add way more validity to the band. I've always been a Tipton guy because more than anyone he provided most of the riffs & a lot of lyrics & is just plain a much better guitarist than K.K. but unfortunately, he's involved less & less for obvious reasons. Very sad.
