Sometimes we just have to let go of the people we love most, especially if we fucked it up during a relationship. It does suck though. You've had me thinking about my ex recently-- we really fucked that up. Were friends for years, had a short 6 month relationship and never really talked again. Really sucks.

So, chapter 1 to me is just the great fortune I got in life rn, this is a song to remind me of my "not-ment-to-be crush/friend". We always had some sort of sexual tension going between each other (or maybe I just wanted to see it that way, but I think it's been a pretty real thing) and who knows: Maybe if she wouldn't have had a boyfriend when we met there could have been something going on between the two of us. When I finally decided to bring up whatever was lingering between her and me she immidiatly blocked any sort of conversation about it, saying that "We're nothing more then friends, I hope you know that" and that's been that topic closed for her. We never been the same since I brought that up, and maybe it's my fault, maybe it's her's (most likely we both could have handled this thing different) who the fuck knows. But noticing we didn't see eye to eye anymore after that broke my heart, because I loved that young woman even if I couldn't allow myself to thing that I did. I had a rough time last year and I remember feeling betrayed by her, because she left me to deal with that all by myself, even though she knew I was struggeling. Now, I finally understood how important it has been for me that whatever we had ended. I understand now, how much I betrayed her with what I did. But also: I finally can look at it all and see why it had to happen. I am doing better now, knowing I've said all I could have said (and I hope she does too) and yes there are still some days where I close my eyes and realize how much I miss her, but that's alright because I can forgive myself for what happened, and life feels so much easier to handle since I do.
