Jools Holland looks like he never ages, he looked the same introducing oasis singing whatever in December 1994 10 years later. These days he pretty much still looks the same.

Nerves probably. No big deal. Early on in The Man Who Fell To Earth Bowie, as Mr Newton, drinks his tin cup of water with two hands. That's how "cup'a'soups" drank in winter on tv ads. Maybe water in the desert is something equivalent: comforting - back to beer.

No, the Geordie accent from Newcastle is the hardest to understand in England. Get that one, you can understand everyone. I lived in Newcastle for a while. I am Canadian. I can understand Ian no problem.

You're right though, he's gotten progressively more mumbly over the years. Eh, on him, it's endearing! XD

I wish there were more interviews from the 80's and early 90's on YT. I can actually understand most of what he said. Maybe the drink, ciggies and other substances have caught up because he's mostly incomprehensible nowadays. And it's not just the accent, because he was Scouse 30 years ago too.
