You can almost be certain there is going to be a cat4 or cat 5 hit somewhere in the gulf by the end of this season. Because there were no major tropical storms in the gulf, the column of warm water goes deeper than just the surface. It is the surface temps that generate hurricanes and once they pass over and turn up all the waters, surface temps cool. That has not happened this year, the warm waters are deeper, and there is more stored heat energy. When a storm does pass over it, it won't cool the surface down so we can probably expect a chain of storms one after another. The second half of the season could be bad, so prepare if you live anywhere near the gulf.

Anyone who was impacted by such storms as we had in catagory 5s and below known Ian was not going to impact Monroe and Dade county as it is as first responders of the state were already instructed to seek refuge in Dade county to move swiftly in and out of Ian before the storm and after, desantis was already advised by emergency services that the area was least likely to be impacted allowing first responders to be ready and this indeed is the case period. Unfortunately for our families in Tampa Bay, we are in a very Bad position and west coast Florida does not have the advanced east coast building codes either. East coast can withstand Hurricaynes up to cat fours however west coast could not withstand really anymore than a cat three for the most part without loss of life and property. *Thank you president Biden for looking out for each of us.
