Not buying it J PL. Robby Savage isn´t World Class. Has never been and his punditry sucks. Stopping players on a one-off doesn´t elevate you to World-Class. You have to be putting that kind of performance consistently to be consider World Class. Robby Savage was average. Hard working, no-nonsense kinda guy, but average. He is desperately trying to fit in with the likes of Owen, Wrighty and McManaman. If he thinks he is World Class, he is out of touch with reality.

I kind of agree with what he's saying. He's saying he wasn't a 'world class' player as he lacked the ability to consistently produce world class performances at the highest level. BUT he is saying that there were days where he could produce a 'world class' level performance against a high level opponent where he might have looked like one of the best DMFs in the world. Which is sort of true for most players as anyone can have a day or two where they're completely unplayable. But you have to do it consistently to be considered a 'world class' player over the length of your career.

These players don’t ‘just stop’ people, there is an art and a skill to being good at that.

Savage mentioned in the same conversation as Nesta - pmsl. It's like comparing my parish church with the Duomo in Milan!

None of them were World class, World class is Ronaldo, Messi, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Henry, Titus Bramble...

Michael Owen was world class for a few seasons. Mcmanaman was close to being there at times. Wright was a world class signing but I only remember him being a top poacher, never a top bracket player.

Wright got 185 goals for Arsenal. 29 in his first season. Henry got 228 goals for Arsenal, so if he's world class, so is Ian Wright.

Weren't Ian Wright's goals purely tap ins? I remember Henry appeared to play with the deficit of only scoring wonder goals. Wright's main deficit was playing non-league until about 26 - which is not a real deficit.

Eight years ago, I was playing for the Roscommon Town Under-11s in the Roscommon District Youth Football League, playing a game against the other team from town. We were already 2-1 up when their keeper took a goal kick. I was stood on the halfway line, took it down, and sent it straight back to him. Looped over his head and just in under the crossbar. Only goal I scored that year, but you know something? I was world class that day, better than Messi in his prime.

Just think, in a few years this will be Hendo getting too big for his boots.

You mean champions league , premier league, world club champion winning captain of Liverpool.

@@nevermindthebollocks1171 Club world cup is too easy to win. I congratulate Liverpool on winning the Premier League and Champions League, but they would have won it without Hendo.

@@MrGFXJake club world cup is easy to win , you have to win the champions league to qualify...... And to compare Henderson with Savage is ridiculous, you don't captain teams to major trophies by being mediocre my friend.

He's right, he had world class performances. They were rare, but they happened. And the other guys are pretty much saying that defenders can't be considered world class

Nesta and Cannavaro? Is he serious? Honestly Robbie, that is a joke of a comment.
