you should do a diy guitar challenge. where you both buy the same kits but without any hardware and pups and electronics. have an overall budget set for hardware, pups etc. you get to pick what you spend most on. BUT you have to do the build yourselves

I gotta be honest, I think I owe Rob an apology. For some time now I had been under the impression that Rob has lost his flair, and that most of what he plays in these jams just kind of sounds the same and not very interesting. But here where you can clearly see him in his comfort zone, that is bluesy shred guitar, he definitely shines and sounds absolutely amazing, proving that he in fact had not lost it after all. Just probably wasn't playing the stuff which he's best at and feels inspired when playing (sacrificing for the sake of the jam with your buddy). Fantastic playing man. Both you and ol' Capitano seem to be getting better and better at your craft with each passing day.

eponymous means to give ones name to something, for example a self-titled album is an eponymous album. An eponymous Jackson guitar would be called "Jackson". I think the word Capt was looking for would be something like 'archetypal' or 'quintessential' :)
@andyoc

Jacob Moffatt It was "Dinky" though.. so the name Dinky begun with Jackson but is now applied to many guitars that are "Dinky Shaped" but not necessarily Jackson brand....my two cents.

I'm soo glad you've pick the Jackson Pro Dinky DK2MQ in chlorine burst, because it's exactly my current guitar model !! But I changed the bridge pickup for a Seymour Duncan 59' custom hybrid, mostly because the JB ( TB4 ) had too much output campare to the 59' on the neck ( and the mids was a bit scoop ), and also because it sound really nicer in coil split.

Late to this, but I an enjoying your videos. I came of age as a bassist in the '80's pointy headstock era. All I had was an Ibanez RB855 that was gifted to me. I really wanted a Jackson or back then, but couldn't afford one. When I think of guitars though, I think of my friend who was a guitarist. He started on a metallic pink Kramer, and later ordered a beautiful pearl white guitar from ESP. That thing was sweet. I've been playing Fender P-basses for the past 20 years, but recently have been eyeing the Jackson Concert series. Nostalgia might win in the end.

@ithemba

@@BenjaminRichardCraig well, depending on the price bracket: below the full blown original floyd rose, the edge zero two, the more affordable edge trem, is far superior to the licensed fr stuff. but ibanez stock PUs (so: below the full blown ibanez with the dimarzios) might well be the worst no-name-PUs of any brand. they seriously are the worst thing about affordable ibanez. that said, i believe ibanez qc is more consistant with the cheaper stuff. I bought a entrylevel rg for 500 bucks a few years ago with the edge zero two, a gorgeous finish and a really nice fretjob and threw a set of Duncans Sh4 Sh1 and SSL5 in that I had laying around anyways. plays and sounds like a million bucks now. that said, afaik charvels for their 800 to 1000 bucks pricing blows both Ibanez and Jackson in the same budget out of the water specwise.

You should do a sort of challenge where you pick a time period (50's, 60's 70's, etc) and try and make a modern day rig that captures the guitar sound of that time.

Great demo. I have never been able to get on with the Ibanez necks. My Jackson maonarkh plays great though.
