Ibapah Peak: 5229ft of Frustration, Pain, and Prominence

Ibapah peak is not a well known peak. It sits in an isolated mountain range called the Deep Creeks on the Utah, Nevada border. Blake has mentioned it from time to time so we decided to roll the dice and head out to ski this remote mountain top. It was a gamble and unfortunately for blake, It was a losing bet. Sometimes during the day it felt like everything but the weather was conspiring against us and a peak that should have taken only a handful of hours, ends up exhausting all our daylight. However, after much frustration and cursing we eventually summited Ibapah, Utah’s 8th most prominent peak. Now excuse me while I go and buy a new pair of skis.

Please tell me you're selling the Mediocre Amateur hats, because I will gladly shell out my hard money for one and proudly wear it every where. Awesome and entertaining video even if it was miserable. You can't have adventures without the risk of failure or disaster. My two young sons will be happy to see this, they've been asking if y'all have put out a new video. They love to watch them. Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Nice work boys--bummer the conditions weren't better, but you never know until you go, especially to a remote place like the Deep Creeks. I skied Ibapah with a group of friends a couple years ago and we had WAY more snow than what y'all had. . We were able to ski right off the summit and had pretty good soft snow.

Very realistic - the intrepid duo. For moderate slope wet grabby snow use Klister. Apply it and light buff it backwards - slows perfectly for the descent and prevents complications like @ 12:24. The total encrustation @5:04 is typical with skins.
