Back when I had to work for a living, I flew in and out of Madrid many times, both before and after the new Terminal 5 was built. From the U.S., I connected from Chicago. Within Europe, from many different airports in Spain, England, France, Germany and the Netherlands. I would say that their service levels were just average. But great flight crews. I made friends with a couple of First Class flight attendants, meeting them for dinner in Madrid a couple of times. One time, they were also staying at the Las Brisas resort in Acapulco when I was there for my annual two week visit. The good old days!

I flew London - Madrid - Bogotá with Iberia last year in premium economy and the flight was ok, nothing special. I’m flying them next month Dublin - Madrid - Mexico City in business class, which I’m really looking forward to given how good the food looks. I love the Velasquez lounge in Madrid. I’ve also flown Iberia within Europe before and have two such trips next year so far but there’s not much to say about those.

Iberia just released a new seat design with your own door for greater privacy. Those seats will be equipped on their A350 which is the aircraft flying MAD-MEX. Good luck with your trip, let me know how it was!

How long is the wait in Guatemala? In Honduras we don't have Iberia, we have Air Europa Airlines and Iberojet Airlines to Europe 🌍

Depende de la aerolinea, de la tripulacion y del momento del vuelo en el que lo solicite. Aparte de servir, tienen otras tareas que realizar respecto a la seguridad del vuelo. Personalmente siempre voy a pedirlo en el galley de atras para evitar esperar mucho tiempo.

De poder se puede, incluso si te distraes mucho en el aeropuerto la probabilidad de que el vuelo te deje es alta. Pero si has comprado ida y vuelta en la misma reserva lo mas probable es que cancelen tu viaje de regreso. Si quieres hacerlo recomiendo que compres aparte tu boleto de regreso.

I hate Iberia with a passion. Nasty customer service, nasty attitude flight attendants, disgusting food, lost luggage, dirty airplanes, late arrivals, and that is just the beginning of my list…. I will fly ANY AIRLINE but Iberia!
