Ibrahim Pasha Loses His Life | Magnificent Century "THE END OF IBRAHIM"

İbrahim Pasha has dark clouds over him... Sultan Suleiman makes the hardest decision on his life. He can't protect the person who has protected from anyone, from himself by deciding him to be executed. The great fellowship started in Saruhan Ranch lasted for long years comes to an end. Suleiman gives İbrahim of Parga up silent hangmen.
Suleiman orders İbrahim to be executed whom he protected even from himself via the judgment of the council. However, he consults Ebussuud Efendi to apply the order. Ebussuud gets shocked and asks for time from Suleiman to be able to give him an answer. Hürrem is also unaware of the situation. She thinks she won't be able to get rid of İbrahim whatever she does. On the other hand, she hasn't seen who Sultana Şah really is. She is pleased that she's good with her. Hürrem also incorporate her in the foundation's charity works.
However, Sultana Şah reveals her true colors with the arrivals of her husbad Lütfi Pasha and her daughter Esmahan.
Prince Mehmet regrets that he caused his favorite Nurbanu' miscarriage. He blames himself. However, he starts blaming Mihrimah after her secret revealed and the siblings fall out with each other. As Hürrem gets involved in their fight, it gets bigger.
The day Suleiman has been waiting for comes. Ebussuud has found a solution. Suleiman needs to sleep for İbrahim's killing. Suleiman won't be able to sleep peacefully anymore. He either needs to apply his decision or change his mind. He invites İbrahim over for iftar one night. İbrahim spends the night in the palace without knowing what will happen to him. As Suleiman is knocked out cold, the silent hangmen knock out İbrahim.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I am fm Bangladesh. As Suleman ignored the Qur'anic Ayat(verse)--" Muslim male & female should marry a Muslim female & male. So, I opine tht Sultan suleman died alone due to his own fault-- marrying of an ordinary Alexendra & Pargali who were NOT Muslim by birth & whom he raised them upto as Main Wife-Hurrem Sultan & Main Minister/Counsellor (Prime Minister)--Ibrahim Pasha !!! So, both of them played their long cherished Part ! Hurrem revenged her being kidnapped in her Teen age, & Pargali tried utmost to be an another Sovereign Sultan by making another part in da Ottoman empire ! Yes, Suleman was a Magnificient man who failed to understand the plot by Rustsm Pasha & so killed his own son--Crown Prince Mustofa & also wrong to choose tha two wrong persons in da right posts-- Alexandra & Pargali who converted to Islam fm Christianity ! Suleman died lonely by missing all--thats wht he earned by violating Qur'aan's that Ayat !

I believe it. There were several episodes of sulieman struggling with it, even after ibrahim told ambassadors suleiman was a literal animal that ibrahim controlled. And asking for more and more riches.

Suleiman's great smile is truly memorable here. The anger, Disappointment and pain were all at once. It was obvious how difficult the decision was for Suleiman when he looked at Ibrahim the last time it was painful. Betrayal always hurts the soul especially when it comes from a friend.

@Leo this was Syleiman's sick mind and soul. Because Sultan Selim Yavuz I dethroned his father, Sultan Beyazid II, that doesn't means that Ibrahim would do the same. After all, he had been loyal to Syleiman all these years. He never wanted to be anything, except his friend. He never wanted anything except the friendship with Syleiman. I see who was with hatred and anger and who was a good friend and had good at his heart. Syleiman was evil and with hatred, Ibrahim however was good and with love for his friend. His mistake was only one: he never suspisious of Syleiman was going to kill him. If he was going to rebel against Syleiman, he would have done this long ago at the previous years.

Unfortunately he backed the wrong horse at the beginning because he found Hureem to be a threat to his ambition. Also he never thought that Suleyman would fall in love with Hureem and Hureem was such a strong and capable woman survive and outlived and outdid all her enemies as well as to be able to have Suleyman's love forever.

Ibrahim had everything he could ever want. A King who loved him as a brother and valued his advice, skills and friendship. A wife who adored him with every inch of her being. Two children who looked up to him. And he chose to throw it all from the window. He chose to make things personal with Hurrem. He cheated on Hatice and was terrible to Nigar too. And most importantly, he forgot that Suleiman is his King. Not just his friend. He was warned time and time again not to act as if he's Suleiman's equal let alone his superior. Ibrahim chose to ignore these warnings. He had it coming.

@Leo I agree. Suleiman was a generous fellow: he was doting on those he cared about. But he was giving too much too soon. If Ibrahim should be promoted, I think that said promotion should have been more graduate. So that he can process the improvement, instead of taking it for granted

@Leo that was I wanted to say for Syleiman too. He forgot who he was and he forgot it several times. He forgot that except from the Sultan, he was also a father, means that he was a mortal man, a human. He forgot that he had been created by sand and water and that he would be transfered sand and water when his time would come to an end. He forgot how he came to life and where he would go after it. He let himself to be slave of the power and of a woman and these two things led him to arrogance and he had been deaf and blind. He lost himself to power and forgot his human nature, because he wasn't God, he was a human. After all, Syleiman wasn't the superior, because there was even a superior than him and this was God himself.

Yeah right. Ibrahim had everything even a civilian didn't have. He was the sultan' closest friend and right hand man. But he just got reckless. Actually his life wasn't that bad. He just got separated from family. But the lady who bought him took care of him. He rose high in life. Married a princess. They loved each other. Even Nigar loved him very much. Sultan loved him. Still it wasn't enough for him. Very weird!

He kept indulging with other concubines even after Hürrem but never gave Mahidevran another chance after she hit her. But somehow never could see how many people from Mustafa to Valeria to Isabella she got rid of for her own self-intetest. Sultan' love was always blind.

Only Ibrahim pasha couldn't sense anything about his death. Literally, everyone felt something was not right. Ebusaud efendi understood as the first glance, Ibrahim will die, Ayaz pasha also understood something will go wrong with Ibrahim, even Hurrem was suspected something big was about to happen, Hatice also had a bad feeling about something, Mustafa also had bad dreams about Ibrahim pasha, Even litfi pasha and shah sultan who just came to palace felt something was off, and others had a bit of feeling that this silence was not good. But Ibrahim pasha was the one who couldn't tell anything.

Hurrem felt that unspoken warning and got out quick! After so many warnings, so many chances, Ibrahims death was fated. The way Suleiman fought to stay awake as long as he could was heartbreaking. On one hand you remember every kindness friendship, brotherhood and support, but on the other hand you finally realize every sneakiness, betrayal and slight of hand. To have to push down everything positive about Ibraheim and do what a Sultan must is in itself heartbreaking torture. Ibraheim had it all and due to greed and arrogance, he lost it all in the blink of an eye. Yet Hurrem being blamed by Hatice and the others, for Sulaiman's decision, when she herself didn't know this was going to happen that night, was completely unfair.

It’s not unfair for hurrem to get the fault. She was the lady macbeth for suleyman. Yes ibrahim was greedy but he also saved suleyman many times. Took the knife for him, took an arrow for him. When he was sick ibrahim was by his side too. It was a brotherhood. Ibrahim was greedy but he wouldve never betrayed suleiman or never killed him. He was smart most of the wars suleyman won was partly ibrahims strategic mind. He helped him. Hurrem also did the same thing with mustafa. But did she have a choice? we all know she didn’t. Honestly after Hurrem left it would have been perfect if Suleiman and Ibrahim finally spoke heart to heart about everything even if Suleiman later killed him , they knew each other for so many years they were like brothers ( Ibrahim even saved him twice) and yes I know that’s how it went in real life but considering how much they change stuff it wouldn’t have bothered anyone. no matter what Ibrahim did he didn't deserve this. I understand that at some point he got way over his head but this was all Suleiman's fault. He literally made Ibrahim his equal and the poor guy was trying to use that power against enemies. No matter what people think and say it is very clear at least from the show that he never had bad intentions, he never thought ''oh let me overrule Suleiman and take his throne''. Not once. If anything everything he did was to empower the empire. He saw himself as equal to Suleiman but the only person whose fault it was, was Suleiman himself. That's why Ibrahim's death doesn't sit right with me no matter what he has done. He was strong and the backbone of the empire. Stupid mistake on Sultan's end

I want to note this scene is historically accurate, rare for series. Indeed sultan Suleiman called his wife, haseki sultan and Ibrahim for a dinner. Suleiman told Ibrahim to stay in the apartment close to his for the night. Then everything went according to plan. Was hurrem sultan aware? Yes she was. She's not responsible but she knew it so she could give the necessary orders to the harem aghas and concubines.

I know that I critize a lot MC but one of the thing a like in this serie is that even the most evil character have his own story and even when we hate him, we can sympathize on his history, understand him a little and on rare occasions feel bad for him. This is the case for Show Ibrahim (even if I find him very detestable) because I came to feel a little bad for him (same cases for Suleiman and Rustem). But the show butchered his character. I know that his arrogance like the show was his fall and the cause of his death but writers have failed to do him justice while he still did a lot of good things for the Ottoman Empire (spending a lot of money to build schools, mosques, contributing to the height of the Ottoman Empire). He had an extraordinary destiny, although I never believed that he was the "good guy" and Hurrem the "bad women". It's strange that they both demonized and romanticized him (they gave him credit that it was thanks to him that Mustafa became a deserving sehzade while it was his mother Mahidevran who earned all the credit for his upbringing and that she even dismissed the governesses to educate him herself which was unusual at the time, caring and adoring Mustafa as a child when it is more likely that they got along better than when Mustafa became an adult , the worst is that two sultanas fell in love with him). He was not a saint, he can make ugly things but he was not a demon. He was a complex character butchered like a lot of characters in MC.

@@anjanavasudevan6470 To be fair Sultan Suleiman never cheat on Hurrem never do stupid test but some historians consider him as a craftsman of the decline of the ottoman empire ( other said it was under Murad III ) and was very cruel to Mahidevran. But yes they butchered all the characters of MC except Sumbul but we all love Sumbul :) ( even if he was a fiction character)

Ibrahim was arrogant ,but he love the Sultan and was his best friend. He didn't deserve to be killed.If the Sultan didn't trust him ,should dismissed him and take his titled away. Only God has the power to take life of people.

Don’t think you’re quite understanding how the positions in the dynasty work. Ibrahims duty was to save Suleimans life whenever and wherever possible. He was getting paid to do this. Ibrahim was also getting paid to conquer lands for Suleiman as well as make sensible decisions for the empire on behalf of Suleiman. If Suleiman simply dismissed Ibrahim, that would be a huge risk to the Ottoman Empire as Ibrahims influence and connections could help Ibrahim to eventually overthrow Suleiman. Or even worse, if Suleiman dismissed Ibrahim now, Ibrahim could come back 20-30 years later and manipulate Suleimans son who would later be in power. It was too much of a risk for Suleiman to take. If Emperors could kill their own brothers/sons/grandsons in cold blood to make sure they don’t get overthrown, who on earth is a Grand Vizier!

When meeting the envoys, he sitting on a mini throne, with two lion statues at each side and saying he is Deputy Sultan. Whatever he say or decide, Suleiman wont say no, this country is in his hand.

Ibrahim was loyal the suleiman however he forgot where he came from and that’s one thing that caused his downfall within politics him and hurrem were both captured as slaves both intelligent however hurrem never forgot where she came from she showed that any girl if they are rich or poor can make it too the top she had a huge influence and impact over the public due to her empathy towards the poor she would build soup kitchens and was caring towards the poor where as Ibrahim wanted power and would throw anyone away for it.

Calling yourself the sultan unfortunately was a huge act of treason. Ibrahim was already walking on deaths door when he got that bust of him made and said what he said in the garden. Suleiman was merciful but Ibrahim unfortunately did not know his limits.

Not gona lie, Love the whole episode but I do wonder why Gulfem is still in the show. I mean they are just paying her for historical acuracy because even in the late episodes she's there for no reason at all but picking sides. She doesn't even fight she just stands there. She can't talk in arguments because they are all above her, she doesn't have kids, she just wallows around the palace for years. She could have honestly been balanced and not have picked sides and no one would hurt her because she never a threat.

Gulfem is one of those characters that was portrayed inaccurately in the series. It is not clear whether she was really a concubine but she most probably wasn't, it is more likely she was a high ranking Harem official and she was very close with Suleyman. He entrusted the young Hurrem to her and the two became friends and companions.

Then, she used someone to shoot him with a poisonous arrow. Then, she tried to get rid of him, by using spies, by using Iskender Celebi and Rustem. Then, she tried to kill him, using executioners and the excuse that she wanted to say something to him, in order to kill him without anyone knows about it. Then, she tried to use the matter of Syleiman's poisoning situation, however all of us knew that Firuze Hatun had poisoned Syleiman (fon't forget that Firuze was Persian spy). No, I think that Ibrahim did well to fight her, because she wanted to get rid of him, so he made a conspiracy with Rustem Agha, in order to kill Ibrahim, so she could bring her children, Mehmet, Beyazid and Selim, one step closer to the throne. Hurrem was behind Ibrahim's exexution, Lutfi Pasha's dismission, Prince Mustafa's execution and Kara Ahmed Pasha's execution, all these had happened for the same reason, in order to be one step closer to the throne. Okay, Ibrahim maybe calling himself Sultan, made sculptures, but he also was threatened by Hurrem. Hurrem always wanted to get rid of him and she even threaten Inrahim, that if he wouldn't give up the power he held, she would kill him. Not a single person can make someone to do whatever he/she wants to and above all with threats. And I suppose that no one would be able to act different than Ibrahim. All of us would react like Ibrahim upon this matter that Hurrem told him to do. Concerning her children, why he was hostile? Because he said that Mehmet should talk to his father about his province? Syleiman was 15 years old when he gone to his province. Mehmet was 15 years old too. So why he didn't go to rule his own province? The answer is one word: Hurrem. Ibrahim never threatened her children, he actually raised both Mehmet and Mustafa, he also cared about Beyazid and Selim, although Mustafa was his first duty, because his duty was to protect the successor of the throne, Prince Mustafa. Because Mustafa was the biggest son of Syleiman. That's why he was always close to him, just like Taslicaly Yahya Bey and Atmaca was in the later years with him, Mahidevran and Mihrunissa Sultanas, Matraksi Nasuh Effendi and Hizir Hayrretin Barbarossa.

I am curious about something: Since Ibrahim's room was next to Sueliman's....I can't help but wonder...during the scuffle with those who were ordered to kill him...did Sueliman wake up hearing it right next door ? Or did he sleep through it ? Ibrahim was trained in combat, fought battles, he surely regained his wits enough to have tried to fight back right ?

I think Suleiman could hear Ibrahim's struggle while being executed. I think it tortured him mentally because after Ibrahim Pasha's death, he regretted his execution. Ok there were a few things wrong with this scene. First, how does Suleiman even manage to sleep with something like that on his mind? Two, how is he even able to coordinate with his executioners when they should kill Ibrahim, as they don't know the exact moment he sleeps. And three, although he was asleep when the order was carried out, he was probably still awake when the order was given, meaning he did in fact break his oath.

Ibrahim became too proudful. It is said that he boasted that he could raise anyone up and then put them back down. He forgot that he wasn't the Sultan. So the sultan had him killed and his body thrown into the street as a warning and a reminder as to who was really in charge. Not unlike Pyter Baelish and Cersi. 🙄
