A day looking for rare records in East Texas. Stopping at anywhere that looks like it might sell old records including antique malls, thrift stores, and book stores. My Instagram: / ibuyoldrecords My eBay: www.ebay.com/u...

I have areas like that where I live. Rural, green scenery, country roads. It's fun to travel down those roads. Btw, I like Frankie Laine. I have some of my dad's 78's with him on it. I was a rocker (still am) but love many genres of music.

First stop: That Love Society 45 on Scepter "Without You" that you blew by is a great psych record! I collect many of those 45s on the HIT label - some of the remakes are very good!

I like that Otis Redding "Sitting on the dock of the bay" on Volt. It's not really rare but a nice track none the less. I always like watching your record hunting trips.

Thanks for these great videos. I have always enjoyed looking through old records, and have collected them for years. Still got boxes and boxes of 45s. In this area (RI) we used to have quarterly record collector shows at a large hall filled with records and memorabilia. I was a radio DJ for decades (even worked at an oldies station), and made it a point to go. The shows were discontinued in the early 90s. We also had several independent record stores (not the Mall type) which sold old, used records and had 100s of thousands of 45s. If you're from the Providence area, you may remember Luke's Record Exchange. If he didn't have it in stock, he could get it for you. Also legendary for collectors was Moffet's downtown, and Ladd's Music. With the advent of the mp3 and the CD, vinyl lost its appeal, but seems to be making a comeback. Unfortunately, I can't remember the last time I ever played any of those records, and 45s did not have the best audio quality. It's easier, and sounds better to play the mp3. But, unlike a computer file, records had not only collectible value, but an identity. Record collecting seems to have become a lost art, and I appreciate you keeping it alive.

Almost to the point of no return, looks like almost every Texan town has been plundered and layed to waist. Too many record hunters have been following your trail and now in need of a plan b. Good time to head a long way south for a refreshing new life. I hope Argentina works out well and who knows there may be some undiscovered treasure down there. Thanks again as always Mack.

You should make a Mack App where people can play sound clips of your witty banter, I’d buy that for a dollar 💵
