Few things to help people 1. Perfect tiles can get the 60 point even if they aren't the tile being played. So you can work to make tiles perfect by surrounding them once placed with matching boarders. Once perfect they grant 60 points. 2. Perfect tiles, grant 1 tile to the stack. Very important for high score chasing as its 60 points and a free tile. 3. The hardest quest doesn't require your last tile to close it, you just get the extra tiles when it is closed. So you can play the last house, then use future tiles to close the feature. Also I believe, though don't have the game open right now to test, you get points for both the number of houses and for the flag it leaves to close the feature. So harder quests but twice as rewarding in terms of tiles and points. Bonus: The game only gives so many quests at a time, if one looks like it will take too long to finish. Intentionally fail it to get a new quest, leaving large unfinished quests in play is a quick trip to a game over.

There is a bit I noticed differently about the game then you explained in this video, the triangular flag on the third mission option is split in two, you have to hit the first part with the number and then you have a second objective to close the area off. And it helps to keep areas small and close them off as quickly as possible (after the objective in it is cleared) because missions are connected to the size of your open areas. If you for example build one gigantic Forrest, you're more likely to get high number missions. If you have multiple small ones you don't get big missions. And you get points for closing areas off no matter how big they are its the same amount of points so better get those points multiple times. But thanks for the good tutorial.

Flags - you can "close" the cluster later than the piece which gives you the "count" score. The flag shows on the cluster until you score it. But I don't know if you get more points for finishing the count AND closing it with the same tile.

You are wrong about the quests where you have to close areas up. When you finish a quest with a little flag in the quest symbole you will get the quest to finish the area but you can still add tiles to it and even start new quests in it and close the area later.

Thanks for the explanation! Impulse bought this and played yesterday but I must have missed the part of the tutorial where they go over the different quest types, was super confusing why some quests were easy to clear and others kept giving me red X's

I'd like to learn more about those flag quests: how does that work with closing of an area? Also I noticed in my game playing that sometimes the edges of tiles glow up red, yellow or blue when trying out where to put your next tile. Do you know what that means?

Railroads and rivers cannot placed them except in contact with like tiles (2:39)? That's not correct at all. I do it all the time, since I know that eventually, I'll likely receive the pieces I need to connect them.

Well that confirms it for me then. This is no longer a game I'm interested in. I thought it was more of a build your landscape however you want type of game, but now I know you can lose if you do that.

Perfect tiles aren't that difficult to achieve, if you're paying attention to tile placement.
