Toshiba Satellite C850-1LV also known as PSCBXE-02P00FEN - How to replace the motherboard
This video shows you how to open up the computer, unscrew and remove the keyboard, underside cover and palm rest. Then shows you how to remove and replace the motherboard.
My faulty motherboard had a component that had overheated and caught fire also causing part of the case to melt.

Thanks for this, I needed to remove the motherboard to unplug and replace a faulty touchpad - didn't want to risk missing something and breaking it in the process.

Unsure, if the motherboards look exactly the same other than the CPU stuck on them then I don't see why not. If the connectors and screw holes are in different places then no.

@@freename you were right they both share the same body design, battery, all the outer details typical but not inside.. after disconnecting the keyboard i found those upper connectors and holes are in different place and the lower are less in one from another, huge thanks i actually solved my problem not by swapping its something not properly placed 😅😀

Guess I could have - likely identical processors though? I've not re-watched the video to see if I mention that they are different.

The motherboard almost certainly came from eBay and the old one will have been thrown away years ago I am afraid.

hi, I have C850-A823 PSKCCV laptop. The screen doesn't display anything. I have connected a monitor with HDMI cable but it still doesn't show anything on that monitor as well. Does this mean that I probably need to change the motherboard. When I hooked up the monitor, i removed the cable connector going from mother board to the laptop display as well. Looking forward to your reply.

Try different RAM, check the USB sockets have not been damaged and if that does not help it is likely to be motherboard. Always impossible to be certain but that is what I would do next.

@@freename I checked different RAM as well but no luck... USB sockets looks good... cannot say for sure... I believe then its the motherboard

Not something I can help with sorry. Your best bet is looking through this video to see if any of the steps to take apart the laptop help you get to the speaker grill
