•Luke 14:12-14: Jesus tells us to invite those who can’t pay us back when we invite them for a meal.
The answer is through love and humility. The best example and definition of love and humility is Jesus.
•Bless those who persecute us and pray for them.
• To be hospitable is the best opportunity to get to know another person a step closer.
• if one feels insecure to invite a stranger, invest time with that person to have a cup of coffee or a meal at a restaurant. What’s important is that you invest your time through the act of love which Jesus commanded us.
• we build relationships through this, bonds, where we can talk about God and demonstrate His Word through love and humility and being hospitable.
• we promote the spread of God’s truth.
• we can be hospitable but without love it isn’t biblical hospitality. (Outward dimension).
• A change of heart (inner dimension) is what one needs to practice biblical hospitality.
• through a change of heart we can show love to strangers, neighbor who is atheist or even someone with a criminal record. We are also called to love and receive the widow who sits beside us at church.
• God commands us to practice hospitality (Romans 12:13), (Hebrews 13:2).
• the strongest motivation to show hospitality is through Christ’s love to us (through the Gospel). This ought to be the driving motivation for all our good works.
• we have been graciously loved and received by God in Christ. To be grateful is the strongest motivation for us to love and receive others with joy and eagerness.
• bless others! We are blessed to be a blessing.
• personal gain isn’t our main motivation to show hospitality but hospitality does have a good result in the lives of those who practice it.
• lavish Grace of God is that we are blessed to bless others. He gives us so that we may give to others, through this we might receive even more of His kindness. (NOT GOSPEL OF PROSPERITY!)
• seek opportunities to show hospitality, in doing so some have entertained angels without knowing.
• may the Holy Spirit who you and encourage you to practice true biblical Hospitality.
