We head to Fish Lake for some late season action at our favorite lake ever for ice fishing! We spend the weekend at Fish Lake Lodge and Resort going for the treasures that dwell under the hard deck of this great lake. Home to some of the biggest Mackinaw or Lake trout you will ever see down in the depths of 50-100 feet of water. We attempted to go for the beasts as well as cutthroat, splake, tigers, and rainbow trout. We managed to hook into some great Splake and Rainbow trout in varied areas of the lake during this trip, but none of the monster lakers that make this place extra special. Conditions were great with about a foot of ice and some fresh snow on top but no slush. We found little success at Mackinaw Bay from 30-50 FOW but caught some perch in the shallows. We hit the jackpot at Mallard Bay jigging tungstens tipped with meal worms in about 25 FOW just outside the weed line which is always the hot ticket here. We were hitting the perch like crazy with about 80-100 caught on the trip and kept about 40 of them to fry up.
