Ice Skating at Somerset House & Theatreland at Christmas! A London Vlogmas, Day 15!

Hello my festive friends and welcome to Queenie of London! Thank you so much for popping by my channel, it's great to see you!
TGI Friday! After work today, I visited SKATE at Somerset House with Switzerland Tourism. The gorgeous courtyard is a perfect setting for the rink, the gorgeous tree and a skate lodge with serving Whispering Angel!
We'll then journey along the strand soaking up the Christmas atmosphere and all the lights, to St Martin's Lane, home of the London Coliseum and some theatre inspired Christmas lights!

I love to " get lost " in bookstores ( esp used ones) and browse for hours. My current thing is used cookbooks as, like a lot of us, I started cooking more during the pandemic and really started enjoying it as a hobby. Thanks for the skating scenes.

Love the Xmas vlogs Q . As always Very informative . Since you live in Chelsea why not visit the Chelsea Gardener in Sydney Street . I am sure they will have lots of Xmas decorations to look at. Kind Regards Anna x

What a beautiful video. The skating rink was lovely. I remember for a few years, F&M operated the restaurant/bar at the rink. Loved the walk down the Strand. I didn't realise that the Strand Palace Hotel was still open, I thought it had closed down at the same time as the Regent Palace. Did you know that both of those hotels were originally operated by Lyons, of the Corner House fame? I remember staying further up the road years ago, at The Waldorf, it was amazing. Loved the theatres all lit up, especially the Colosseum. Another memory popped up of St Martin's Lane from when I went to Stringfellows, although I preferred Peter's Hippodrome when he owned it, I got on the VIP list there. Anyway Miss Q, I rambled, and as you might have seen, we've had a Queenie marathon tonight. Loved it. xx

I am finally recovered from my 2 days in London. got 2 different gold spray paints. so now I am ready to craft. trolled a lot of charity shops for special books for my son. and other treasures. I went to fortnum & mason (not a fan) and liberty which was interesting. pretty things but priced too high for the quality. will try to bring my son to see the building which is gorgeous! if I had a good pattern I might consider buying fabrics, pricey but great quality. I was in London earlier to see country livings christmas market, might do it again next year. some shops look better through your lense!
