Yo wassup the video it is done. This video is about the time I had appendicitis and was sent to the hospital where I got emergency surgery. This video actually had a due date (today) for the sponsor so there was a couple things that got left out of the story, they were tiny details but it was things like my friends came to visit me after my surgery and it was really nice! It meant a lot more than I expected it to. My friends were the real stars here and I don't think I did them real justice tbh so maybe another day I'll do a retelling of the story, podcast style or something. I might take a break from sponsors for a video or 2 so I don't run into this problem again. Also I'm getting worried the sponsorship reads are just funnier than the actual video lol.
But yeah the appendicitis thing. It was terrible. Especially getting sick all over the place. I remember that doctor looking at me and being like "you need to stick this tube in your stomach" and I was thinking I wasn't ready but didn't really have a choice. There was no room for push back it was all or nothing. It was a little freaky but I think I'm so lucky to have my friends in my life to support me. They were there to bring me to the hospital, support me emotionally, take care of my belongings when I abandoned them in the classroom.
Also I learned a lot about the hospitalization process. It's pretty fast like I was just given a room right away. One moment I was given an assessment and the next I was given a patient robe to put on, I hardly had time to think!

It’s always crazy to hear other people’s experiences with their appendix being removed. For me I had to wait a couple days before mine was removed and it was awful. Another thing too was that I didn’t even know it was possible to die from until I found out years later 😀

I'm surprised they had you wait days for surgery, they could've started you on antibiotics right away and likely avoided surgery all together. It's an increasingly common treatment to appendicitis, just like tonsillitis is usually not treated by removal but antibiotics. Both organs serve a still useful role today in the immune system, they're not required like many organs, but they're just as useful today as they were 10,000 years ago.

Same! The surgeon kept getting more serious emergencies than me so I had to wait 4 days I became a priority and I wasn’t allowed to eat at all. It was miserable. I also had 0 testing, they just straight up yoinked my appendix and confirmed cheerfully afterwards that they were right and it was appendicitis.

To everyone watching this who is now terrified of getting appendicitis: I had my appendix out and did not need to get a tube stuck in either end of me. Andy just had a complicated situation.

@@creechieuihana i had appendicitis and no tubes were used on me :D idk the chances for having compact intestines but i do know that getting your stomach pumped is avoidable! if you have any appendicitis symptoms STOP EATING like instantly it may take a few hours in the er for the doctors to get to you so the food should leave your system by then, thats what happened to me :>

@@creechieuihana It depends on wheather you ate something that day, I went to the hospital without eating anything for the past 8 hours so they did not put any tube in my stomach. The other tube however is about your boady itself. I was one of the unlucky ones

Actually, when humans were monke’s, the appendix helped us balance. But now, we can balance ourselves, so the appendix’s function was already unlocked, *we just locked it back*

There is a use, unfortunately. According to Wikipedia: "Recent research suggests that the appendix may serve an important purpose. In particular, it may serve as a reservoir for beneficial gut bacteria."

yeah appendixes bassically serve to help regulate the mini-ecosystem inside your stomach and body and shit primarily that which helps with digestion, so that if anything happens where for whatever reason there's just a purge of all the bacteria in your stomach or some shit that causes that stuff not to be right, your appendix will replenish it and repair it. Unfortunately having a sack of just pure bacteria that's liable to explode inside of you isn't that great.

Got my appendix removed 3 years ago and I can confirm it was the worst pain I’ve ever been in. Had a tube sticking out of my stomach for 4 weeks after. Would not recommend.😅

Reason your stomach has to be empty during surgery: there's a chance of vomiting/stuff coming up during surgery if you have food in you. When you're knocked out, you don't have a gag reflex, so you can choke to death unless you have no food in your body.

I was in the hospital for the first time in my life just a couple of months ago. I spent 4 days and 3 nights in bed because of an infected ulcer on my leg and extremely high blood pressure. It was a disgusting waste of time and money (I owe them almost $7,000!) because they didn't make me better at all. But, I continued to see other doctors weekly for the next 2+ months before I finally got better. Hospitals suck, and I hope I don't have to be in one again for a long time.

My daughter literally watched this video on Thursday, and on Sunday she was having some of the symptoms you described. Had she not watched your video a few days before, she wouldn’t have been so convinced that she had appendicitis. She didn’t even know what it was before your video and we thought she just had a stomach bug. She got admitted to the hospital later that night and she is now recovering from the appendectomy. I am so thankful for your video- the timing of her watching it couldn’t have been more perfect for her diagnosis.

They gotta pump your stomach (if you haven’t fasted -which happens during emergency surgery) so during surgery the food and liquids don’t go into your lungs and drown you. Reason this can happen is because during anaesthesia all your muscles are relaxed and not engaged, which means there are no muscles stopping stomach contents from coming back up and into lungs and since your muscles are down for a count of course you can’t cough it up.

They pump your stomach bc, anesthesia paralyzes you’re entire body. Including your reflexes. There’s this muscle in the body, that’s sole purpose is to keep things in your stomach, and it relaxes when you each or drink something. Under anesthesia it relaxes(as all the muscles do)and any food in your stomach would leave your stomach, and would probably go into your lungs. Now normally when something besides air gets into your lungs, you start coughing a lot, to get it out. That’s a reflex, which you can’t do underneath anesthesia. i would rater being paying the bill for long that coming for a operation and end up dead... i had a friend (18yold) that die 1 week after they remove her wisdom teeth in a "venezuelan hospiral". they didnt noticed they left some infections behind and for one week of calling every day saying she has horrible headaches and they only tell her: take more headache pills, if 1 doesnt work, take 2... and on... when they finally let her go back to hospital and see, well, she just stayed alive around 1 more hour.

Today, I went through literally every symptom, minus the abdominal pain, which was substituted by the once-a-month-event cramps. Mom said I was so pale that she got jumpscared when she opened her bedroom door for me. I didn’t have appendicitis. In fact, I don’t know what I went through. I even broke into a cold sweat, which has never happened to me.

Had a kitten that swallowed a rubber band. The vets couldn't see anything on the imaging because her bowels were to shrunken from dehydration from not eating or drinking in discomfort. Plus, it was a rubber band and jard to see anyway. You likely had dehydration, I'm guessing, which was why your bowels were so compact. They were shriveled and devoid of food waste because your emissions just cleaned you out. (For those who want to know: I fed bottles of non-onion and sodium-free chicken broth every two hours, then a bit of pumpkin puree after the kitten wanted to eat again to get that rubber band to pass. The $2000 bowel surgery was too risky for such a small kitten. Within the day, the kitten finally pooped it out.)

There are scientist trying ro create a system so people can breathe through their butts. It's plausible so far. Basically same concept as butt chugging except with oxygen. I had my appendix removed some years ago now and the process... was not like this. I was simply told after some tests were done "you have appendicitis" and "Don't eat anything." I was pretty relaxed and then was offered a sausage roll about 30mins later and ate it. After I was satisfied, I realised I had screwed up when the doctor saw me chewing and then I remembered the words "DON'T EAT ANYTHING". The doctors were panicked and and not long after i was taken to surgery. After I woke up, i threw up on the floor and passed out, the end. I recovered fine. Turned out the doctors were panicking because I had about an hour to live. My appendix was so inflamed it was about to nuke my body. But i had no tubes in me, no pumping or anything. Asides from the pain (and sausage roll) , no complications.

This video came to me one day when I woke up with horrible pain in my right abdomen. Turns out, your gallbladder might also make you feel like this. Also, ICS is not lying about the anesthesia. The last thing I remember is feeling really floaty and smiley and my father (who was there to comfort me and did ok) saying "oh, it's kicking in" and then I woke up, gallbladder and gallstone free.

My grandfather had a appendicitis at like 97 years old or something. He said he had cramps but was fine. We called an ambulance the next day when he couldn't get up out of bed (that seemed like more than just cramps). They weren't sure what the issue was and had to do exploratory surgery to find his appendix (which had burst) and remove GANGRENE! I swear that man was super-human.

My friends appendix recently exploded inside his body. He had to get internal stitches, was bleeding internally, had to get some organs/intestines moved to perform the surgery more successfully and had to wait an extra two and a half hours than the surgery usually takes before being able to relax a bit. What’s worse is they were all talking German and his sister, father and brother weren’t home. Visitors weren’t allowed at the hour. This video makes this situation scare me even more. And this happened two weeks ago :D

My own appendix too attempted to self destruct when I was younger. It started out in the evening, felt like a rock was in my stomach. I could barley walk, and I only took two bites of dinner. My grandma walked in on me writhing in pain on my bed not able to talk from how bad it hurt.

The appendix is thought to contain “backup” gut flora to replenish the microbes in your intestinal tract after a “purge” like diarrhea or other nasty events. That little section keeps some of them hidden way during the event so they can repopulate afterward. A healthy gut flora is essential for proper health.

I haven’t had the throw up bug in years but whenever I did my body was so teeny tiny and frail that once I threw up I couldn’t eat or drink anything for 48 hours or i would just throw it back up again. We’re talking like 7+ times of throwing up each time. Sometimes I would have nothing left in my stomach but it still made me throw up and it was just toxic stomach fluid. It made me crave death so much :) also one time I stubbed my toe.
