I find watching lava really hypnotic, especially bubbling lava in a crater. There is a video of Geoff Mackley, a Kiwi adventurer and he went to Ambrym volcano in Vanuatu in the pacific. That volcano had a lava lake & Geoff MAckley climbed down to a ledge that was about 100 feet above the lava lake. The footage that he took was amazing to see.

The eruption site is closed to the public until Monday. They had to rescue several people, and others were being very disrespectful towards the SAR. Also, I think climbing up actively erupting vents is frowned upon.

@@moonflow23 Correct, weather is very bad over there right now, and the pollution from moss fire & eruption is terrible. Hopefully the area will be safe on Saturday.
