In this video, IM Andrey Ostrovskiy is sharing with you the interesting Icelandic Gambit. It starts with the moves:
1.e4 d5 2.exd5 Nf6 3.c4
If black continues with 3...e6, we enter the Icelandic Gambit in the Modern Variation of the Scandinavian Defense. Black is sacrificing the e6 pawn with the goal to achieve a better piece development. Despite the extra pawn, white is having a hard time playing against this gambit as a lot of traps and difficulties can arise.

since i kinda got bored with sicilian, looked for something different, exciting. than ran into scandinavian and this line is pretty nice to play. maybe you can make a playlist on scandinavian, for those who are seeking excitement=) thanks for your efforts ✌️

Very nice video. I play the Scandinavian regularly, and have a better record with it than I did with the Sicilian. (My chess coach recommended the switch.) The Icelandic Gambit might be fun to learn for rapid chess.

At my level most people protect the pawn with Nc3 instead of c4, then after exchange I have a centralized queen, I can pin white's knight on f3 if he plays it and even sometimes double his pawns, it's either that or I get the icelandic, anyway thx for the video

Thank you for your comment. The line you mentioned indeed gives black quite simple play. If White can’t attack the queen (which is the case after the exchange of knights on d5), then there are only advantages in having the queen in the center, even though it’s an early stage of the game.
