Bilattice is the Next Evolution of Rule Discovery Games

This is the next rule discovery, grid-based puzzle game, similar to Taiji or The Witness, with meta twists and new symbols. As a rule discovery puzzle game you have to figure out the meaning of the symbols as its own puzzle.
Feel free to pause when watching in case you want to figure the rules yourself.

A problem I find with the rule discovery “genre” video is that the viewer who enjoys this kind of game will stop watching as soon as they are hooked enough to want to play it themselves, which wouldn’t be a problem but this game isn’t out yet

it honestly puzzles me too somewhat, many devs tell me it's okay and even preferred to release the video before the game is actually out (I have always asked if I should wait for the release, and they say 'whatever' or not to wait) none of the devs I've talked to have responded 'wait for the game's release' so far, I wonder when that'll eventually happen lol

I have multiple thoughts, so I just merge them into one comment I don’t know why you waited to show the arrow mechanic. Nothings was gained by doing so, and it was pretty easy to grasp (though hard to master) 46:57 seemed really easy to me. Do you forget about the arrows switching polarity at that moment? I wish the video was a little shorter. I am leaving a comment before I finish it as I have to take a break from this and come back. I shall finish it later

not a huge fan of the arrow clue, which i think i've seen elsewhere; i just don't see any way to think about it intuitively, and it violates so much about how the rest of the rules work. fully spelled out i think it's: a region is defined by flood-filling, one cell at a time. for a normal cell, that means adding every neighbor of the same color *as that cell* to the region. but with the arrow, the flood-fill adds ONLY the neighboring cell pointed to by the arrow (regardless of its color). and then the flood continues from there as normal. edit: well nevermind pink numbers are obviously worse

its very confusing when you cut out footage and put it later just because you did something in the wrong order. it would be much nicer to see this in chronological order

the two cuts are - showing yellow numbers before the arrow mechanic, because the arrow mechanic is far harder to visualize and I thought that it would screw up retention to have that as the second mechanic. The dev is moving arrow mechanics to be a bit further in - spoiling the later twist on the pink number level 4
