Damn that was close...wouldn't want to call that one. I think Nico took it on content, but Ives had a bit better execution and a bit more aggression / snap in his movements.

Ives was never flustered or got tired. Consistent the whole way through. No question he took it by whatever margin you think. Both guys did great. I look forward to seeing my hometown breaker making it to the end of this thing and taking it.

First round was definitely Nico, second round was Icey Ives, third round was Icey Ives (Nico had better content, but he should've made more effort to dance on the basic kick snare beat in this round, kick snare and accenting the "1-count" is very important at BC One level) you can notice that Nico lost marks in the last round because he stuck his freeze on the "7-count'' at 2:50 the judges would've preferred he stuck the freeze on the "1-count", with some judges this don't matter so much, because it can be considered "going-off" which is a good thing, but if you watch Poe One and count in your head, you will notice he is completely on the count (5,6,7,8,"1",2,3,4 etc) and at the same time he is also "going-off"

To those who felt weird about this one, my opinion was Nico still got some energy but honestly he went short on R1&R2. On the other hand, Ives didn't take no prisoner and went all out. That's why he won it. If I were to be a judge there, Ive's reply on R2 was on point. Nico was clean but going on short. Only R3 Nico actually takes his time there. Ives took this one.
