We have created a ramen that contains no pork.
*We do NOT use halal meat (chicken and beef).
*We do NOT think that this is halal ramen.

Ichiran Ramen is a ramen shop where you order and pay with an automatic ticket vending machine.
You can also order a second batch and adjust the spiciness of the ramen. My request is always very hot.
The feature seating is designed to allow you to focus on your meal.
It's a great way to eat alone or without having to worry about your surroundings.

@@JoeH3rz-3 It's not as bad as they say. Honestly. Was in Japan for 3 years. Only had one Issue with some older Fellow. If you know basic japanese and stay polite you won't have any issues. When in Rome do as the romans do. Be respectful, be polite and i guarantee that you won't have any problems with racism there.

Tonkatsu without pork just sounds like NOT actual tonkatsu. But its good for people who don’t eat pork i guess

Well tonkotsu means "pork bones" so you're right, it wouldn't be tonkotsu. Since it's made from beef bones, it would be gyukotsu.

While this branch of Ichiran utilizes Beef rather than Pork, the restaurant is not Halal certified.

Weird that they just dont make it halal, it would increase their customer rate like 10 times. People like me would even travel to Japan to try this out. Its not that they need to change their recipes, just add a halal option to your menu and its done.

I think its because Halal food has a very strict rules for it to be Halal....in your case, if a restaurant serves both halal and non halal food like pork and alcohol, the halal food itself cant be properly halal since the cooking utensils that were used to cook non halal food may also be used to cook the halal ones....also english is not my main language so i might be missing your point, so i apologize for that....

Late reply, but to emphasize on whats already been said; Ichiran did openly stated that their beef comes from the same factory as their pork ones, which is, similar to the utensils as mentioned, not something we want for a Halal food. I feel like if they changed the way their beef are sourced to accommodate Halal food criteria and have a dedicated factory for it, they could make an effort to give it a Halal certificate. It's just prob smth not in their priorities or they can't afford to do rn esp with the pandemic.

I don't see the point of making a pork free meat ramen that is neither kosher or halal therefore excluding the 2 main groups that don't eat pork. It feels a bit deceptive if you ask me. Like are people who aren't Muslim or Jewish really asking for pork free ramen. It would make sense if it was meat free but it still contains beef and chicken. I am a bit baffled here
