These lyrics are great! I love how icon for hire's songs not only confront the sh!tshow/theatre of culture/society in general but especially how the lyrics challenge the listener itself! These songs may be associated to emo-culture but the message seems to revolve around not-wallowing in grief or endless self-pity, but instead taking action and become a more true, better self!

So now I have found another band that has a lead singer with beautiful hair and an amazing voice!

I've had a nightcore version of this song in my playlist for many years, and finally stumbled upon the original. And wow, didn't know the lady performing it was such a badass! Seriously, coolness overload, and the rest of the band/cast really make a stunning presentation, it adds so many more layers to the song! I think I'm in love!

It's strange running across this video again, it brings up memories I almost forgot that I ever had. This was the first Icon For Hire song I heard, I was sitting on my bed in my barracks room wandering through the vast sea of music here on KZfaq in a depressive state, worried about losing my job, my friends, my sanity, my health, and my sense of self-worth, far away from my family and feeling more alone than I had since I was a teenager and the only one I could talk to about my struggles in life was my dog, and I came upon this video and thought "hey, this is a pretty cool band", and felt compelled to find more even though it wasn't really the kind of music I'd usually listen to. Now I sit on a different bed thousands of miles and many years separated from where I was, having finally been brought around here again by KZfaq's algorithm, and I'm reminded of all the struggles, the losses, and the slow but painful triumphs that I've had in my life in that time, and I'm honestly not sure if I'd have come through it all without this music. There's a power in the words and in the feeling behind them that permeates through all of their songs that I can't quite explain, but which always gives me that little bit extra that I need to push through into tomorrow. I'll never be able to thank them properly for the outsized impact something so deceptively small as listening to some music has had on my life, but at least I can leave an overly long and maybe somewhat overly-sharing comment that they'll likely never see, so that's what I'll do. Icon Forever.

Every once in a while a group of random oddballs come together and thats when true explosive creativity forces itself upon perceived reality and it won't be denied.
