It has taken a small army of people more than two years to restore the iconic Union Central Life tower downtown back to a modern marvel. Now, residents are about to start moving in.

So glad to see such a gorgeous building being preserved & repurposed. 🌇💛 Thank goodness the current developer recognized & understood how invaluable it would be to save the building’s original architectural elements, such as the exquisite ornamentation, opulent gilding, ionic columns, coffered ceilings, & much more. 🥰 The preservation of those splendid characteristics allows Union Central Life Tower to stand out as an architectural gem of classical revival beauty amongst the appalling ugliness of modernist schlock that gets built nowadays. 😌

same wimpering and whining about modernism, always a different, never consistent reason, even when 90s era skyscrapers were pretty close, they were considered "gaudy and dated" so if modern buildings are too boring then why do you anti-modernists complain when a new building is ornamented because its not the right ornamentation or whatever, also if theres something objectively wrong with modernism i wonder why we constantly build modern buildings and why did brutalist designs like the D.C subway and inside of the rencen are considered beautiful thats something i dont like about you classical architecture fans, you want the art you like preserved but couldn't care less about other buildings that drift away from your taste in the same manner that lead to the loss of so many 1800s buildings in the 60s-80s, if old architecture was objectively the best or whatever half of all of it wouldn't have been demolished in 1965 well before the building was too old to use

Was that not the building featured in the opening/closing credits from the old TV soap opera, "The Edge of Night"?

Nice! But I bet it will be pretty pricey to live there!
