Haven't been there for a while. Not sure if their staff’s attitude had improved over the years,from the tendency to "kick guests away when they are done" to a more warm & welcoming one.

Thanks a lot for this video. Mocambo is and will remain my all time favourite. I've tasted all the non veg items that you showed - - mouth watering stuff, all of them ! They also make a fantastic starter - - Fish Muniere which is drier than the Bell Muniere that you had. Also I love their melt in the mouth Mutton Peshawari Kabab. Their Tuna Dip is another starter which is a great way to start your dinner along with the amazing cocktail Rum Collins. Talk of Mocambo and I can go on and on - - - Peter Cat is no match ( an entirely personal opinion, apologies to PC lovers).

Wasn't able to join this platform to watch all the videos lately but must say most of the dishes except prawns and crab has been my favorite. Chicken Ala kiev is one such dish I prefer to avoid due to the excessive butter but otherwise it's always an awesome feeling to be here every time. Desserts here as you said is honestly mild and it doesn't disappoint either after having so much cheese and butter...😍🥰

Very precise and to the point👌 Personally I believe best prawn cocktail and deviled crab(very cheesy and lot of crab meat) in town are served at Chapter 2....I found the deviled crab at mocambo is less cheesy and less craby... And the prawn cocktail is a bit tangier and the sauce is a bit thin. But no doubt they make the best 'a la kiev' in Kolkata.. Never new any Kolkata restaurant serve 'Baked Alaska'.. Will surely try it😊

Haven't been there in quite a while, but a good restaurant as long as one sticks to the continental menu. The Indian dishes, tandoori etc are good, but the Chinese section is definitely avoidable.

Prawn cocktails do not have shrimp. Prawn and shrimps are different things, and I'm 'pretty' sure you know it. I guess it's the excitement again?

Everybody forgot thay this restaurant didnt allow a person to eat there because he waa a driver and didnt fit their "standard". People really do have a short term memory..which is sad 😔😔

Common dude. The three big restaurants- Mocambo, Peter Cat, Flurrys are all so overhyped. Their menus are dated, service poor, the servers are grumpy, decor is tacky and the food average at best. You should highlight restaurants that actually do a good job instead of these. Places like Spice Kraft, Fabrica etc are so much better.

Its a good restaurant, only turn off for me is that they serve beef as well.

I have been to mocambo today (26/3/22) i tried specifically devil's crab. I had high expectations from it. I literally thought it's gonna be something really gravy and spicy it has DEVIL in it's name... I AM TELLING YOU I WAS DISAPPOINTED! IT JUST TASTES LIKE AALU SEDDHO. DISAPPOINTMENT AT IT'S PEAK. Not recommended for Rs 600.

Definitely not for the faint hearted and not for the ones who care for heart health. These dishes contain the amount of cheese and butter that are used for an entire month in a normal household. Besides, the entire kolkata meat supply chain is so corrupt and politically controlled that you never know what kind of meat you are eating in a restaurant. Best avoided

We did try all of the dishes mentioned in this review and sorry to say noneof them matched expectations - Let's start with the good -1) service at Mocambos was quick and very courteous even though it was a packed house.2) Ambience is lovely. Great place for a beer and chat or even a whisky and cigar (not sure if later is poss) 3) Yummy crab soup The not so good - 1) The prawn cocktail - is just prawns dunked in a vat of thousand island dressing, taste is novel but nothing to write home about and completely missable 2) The devilled crab was an oily gooey mishmash of dressing and sauces and barely any crab meet- not worth the money and fuss 3) The beckty muniere again, just overpowered with white sauce and oily..pls avoid 4) Chicken a la kiev, a little better in terms of taste but by the time we got to it we were done and kinda had to force it down.. 4) Baked Alaska - don't think these guys know what a true baked Alaska is with all the layers, so-so. Overall - for the dishes in this video review, Not reccommed

It's not as good as you exaggerated. It just tastes like basic aalu seddho with a hint of crab meat. Not recommended.

To be honest, we went there in March. The food was low standard. The prawns in the prawn cocktail were smelly and the ala Kiev was half the size and the chicken inside was hardly 10 grams. In top of that they took 1 and 1/2 hours to serve just 2 dishes. Now coming to the service. Service was like tortoise and people were simply rude. The added bonus was, we got food poisoning after eating there. I think they only serve properly to food bloggers and no one else. It simply felt like I was back in British raj where the natives are treated badly for entering these establishments. If you don't believe me go check out their reviews in Zomato.
