well done Ingo !!! back to back Stelvio just a dream so far me despite done Stelvio several times ( 7 or 8 , lost count ) along the years from all the 3 sides . hopefully in 2024 i can get my dream done , thank you for the insipiration

Yeah, Stelvio was crazy busy in late July this year. The Bormio side was fine going up early in the morning. But the Prato side was in places almost like a traffic jam of Lambos, Ferraris, Mclarens, motorbikes, etc. I even rode into the back of an NL-registered car coming out of hairpin 38 when the nervous driver braked suddenly due to an oncoming motorbike. When our group got down to Prato, a few of us said “f*** that” and took the Umbrail Pass back to Bormio. We had done Stelvio on a previous occasion so it was good to do something new anyway. Umbrail is hard, and the Swiss don’t erect signs showing distance to go and gradient. For me, the Stelvio is spoiled somewhat by all the motorised traffic (thanks, Jeremy Clarkson) and the Gavia is now the Queen of the Alps…especially from Ponte.

What an incredible ride and absolutely stunning scenery. I would need to camp at the top and recover overnight before attempting the other side 😂. I'm busy preparing for the Old Mutual Wealth Double Century taking place in November. Slowly building up the fitness again after a very lazy winter.

Really great video! I was just there last week. Did the Prato side last Thursday and the Bormio side on BIke Day (Saturday). They were jammed up on the Prato side on bike day at the top. Doing both sides on the same day is beyond me. Congratulations, that is very impressive. Both sides are amazing.
