REVIEW DISCLAIMER:
My Airsoft channel is an ENTERTAINMENT channel where the equipment featured, are predominantly used for my film company. Naturally, I also enjoy collecting, reviewing and playing airsoft, so have merged these entities together to create my channel. I love airsoft and love making these videos. I laugh at myself at times and do not take myself too seriously, so you shouldn't either! 😇 However... Safety and laws surrounding airsoft will always be my top priority!
I do not have the room/space to do long-range accuracy tests. Until I can secure a larger space, what you see in my videos is all I can offer for now. Sometimes I do have access to an outdoor secure field but it is nowhere near where I am based. Please remember my KZfaq channel is my hobby and not a business. My channel has never and will never claim to be an expert or professional airsoft product review and testing channel. As stated at the end of all of my videos.
Thanks for stopping by... 😇 Appreciated!
SIDENOTE:
All of the reviews featured on Airsoft Mike’s KZfaq channel are brand new, out of the box reviews. So more often than not, all items featured will be in good, if not perfect working order.
A follow-up review of all Airsoft equipment will be done at a later date. (This is taking longer than expected but updates will follow early 2021).
This is so a full and frank opinion can be given. Any faults or issues discovered since the unboxing, will be highlighted in follow up videos.

I have a real steel M1 from Springfield with its accompanying bayonet. It's actually a WW2 era one that was refurbished after the war for the Korean War. I used to be big into airsoft so I understand the attraction of getting to run with a replica like this, but I have to say: If you ever get the chance to hold one of the real things in your life or own one for that matter, you need to take advantage of it! There's nothing like it. If you're any kind of military history buff, it's a humbling experience just to hold it, examine the different nicks on it, and imagine where it's been during a time in human history we hopefully never repeat.

Ok....I've just stumbled across your channel and I must admit, that I need to add this garand to my collection now. I was lucky enough to acquire a couple of real steel versions, and this ICS version has definitely got me smiling. The cleaning kit would have gone where the battery compartment is. The real steel is definitely fun to play with. Now I need this one for all of those renegade soda cans in my life. I'm definitely going to look into joining airsoft now. 😎

I know I’m late, but most M1s when they were newly issued, they were lighter colored. As the years went by, and soldiers who had these used them, the wood gets darker from weathering and combat. It’s fairly common with a lot of weapons that have wood furniture.

The M1 Garand s a beautiful rifle it's nice playing with them in airsoft are you get a real special feeling when you fire the real one you get a sense of the history behind it and it's even better when you fired the last round and the clip pops out and it makes the dinging noise when it hits the ground and it reminds you of every video game and movie that properly represents that rifle and the history that it represents

The G&G version has very great externals. The wood is real walnut and the metal parts are Parkerized. The ICS version may not be as realistic as the g&g. But the reason I prefer the ICS version is because ICS builds these for the players. The Magazines for the ICS are easy to find and so are parts incase they break on your gun. The M1 Garand is for the most part, a proprietary system. and ICS was smart enough to make after market parts available.

I am constantly thinking about buying a real steel CMP Garand because they're such beautiful rifles, but when I think about $1 a round at the range, sometimes I think a better option is an airsoft that I can shoot at cans in the backyard. As long as it's metal and wood it would be fun enough I think.

The buttplate door on the real steel garand is for the cleaning kit. It was a rod in 4 threaded segments, which came with a few brushes and an oil bottle, wrapped into a canvas pouch small enough to fit inside the stock compartment. Many military rifles at the time used a similar idea, including the Lee-Enfields.

Inside the stock goes a cloth kit containing rods to make a full length cleaning rod a bore brush a patch. Along with a grease pot and oiler and a m10 tool. Reproductions along with originals can be found online if you would like to purchase one for more authenticity

US rifles, the M1/M14/M16, use the slot in the back of the rifles to store your cleaning kit for your rifle.
