This song is the best, literally. It’s like he encapsulated American racial tension and put it honestly in two peoples shoes. All the things many people think but never say out loud, so it never gets resolved. I especially love the bridge where he talks about the cycle continuing, placing blame, and how divided we are. The song also takes accountability for both sides. Joyner really outdid himself here.

It explains the whole problem that’s been going on for hundreds of years. Especially in the early/mid 1900s. Racism and division between both Black and White people isn’t necessarily a skin colour issue it’s a mindset issue. Racist people exist because of past issues between races and because they held onto that and spread their toxic point of view and infected other people. All people despite origin deserve love and peace, we should all get on and not see colour because deep down we’re all the same, we’re all human after all and at the end of the day skin colour/appearance doesn’t matter it’s who you are who determines who you are. Spread love not hate. And this is from the perspective of a white person. I mean sure I may have been “racist” in the past (when I was a kid) I thought it was strange that other people have different skin colour and then I learned that it wasn’t strange and that it was a normal part of humanity. But I guess we were all kind of like that as a kid because we were naive and hadn’t really seen the world.

@TheRealInky
@TheRealInky 3 жыл бұрын
@@justaguyonyoutube there is objective good and evil. It's objectively good to help someone in need and objectively evil to murder. That's according to pretty much any culture, ever. It's more nuanced than that, of course, but on a really basic level you're just wrong. There is an inborn moral compass - it isn't all nature or all nurture. And that makes complete sense, just in an evolutionary sense. Good and evil may or may not be "just" human conceptions, I won't claim one or the other as truth, but it's either dishonest or naive to suggest that they don't exist. They certainly do, as ideas, or we wouldn't be talking about it in the first place. All or nothing approaches to complex and nuanced issues are silly. You're making a very extraordinary claim and presenting a self-assured veneer as if you know the truth. People have argued these things for thousands of years and we will likely continue arguing these things for thousands more. A little humility wouldn't kill you; you don't have all the answers.

Not starting an argument here but the same way that the second part isn't fascist is the same way the first part isn't. White guy here. What I got from this song was that there's a point on both sides. Okay, that sounds basic as fuck... except I mean there's REALLY a case on both sides. Whites and blacks spend so much time hating each other and killing each other that there's almost no understanding at all. But then when we try to understand each other, we also fight that shit "Trying to steal black culture", "Paying my taxes for your food stamps".... so there's a misunderstanding and we do it to each other. That's sad. We could do better.
