I have an idea: instead of (or alongside) mob votes, they should add item votes (ie, they say "we are adding the armadillo and the crab, what should each mob do? and list options.) That way, we get more mobs while still having community engagement. This could be like, should crabs add an ability to build further away, a new type of meat which increases hunger bars so you get hungry slower, or a shell that can be used to strengthen weapons? and should the armadillo add scutes to make dog armour, ability to dig up potatoes, beetroot and carrots randomly (in a farmable way that takes up less space than traditional farming), or claws which can be used to guarantee leather from a cow/pig? While this sounds the same as the current mob vote, they could repeat features each time so they don't dissapear forever (ie, the next vote is moles which dig up veggies randomly, allowing bats to produce meat which increases hunger bars, or something else.) Obviously this idea could be refined but repeating features and mobs in different settings might allow it to not feel like whichever mobs lose are lost forever, as they are all added its just their features change. I don't know though just something I thought of.

Penguins?, Dolphins already do something similar... Crabs?, Scaffolding exists... Armadillos?... I NEED TO SEE MY DOGOS IN SHINING ARMOR!!!

So basically this is the summary of the three mobs Crab - A mob with a great claw that can help you place blocks farther than usual in survival mode. Armadilo - A useless looking, but actually helpful animal for your pet wolf you constantly fear for losing in your journeys. Penguin - A cute mob to bring attention. Basically dolphin 2.0, only difference is it can make your boat travel faster on water. In my mind I prefer the armadilo because the savannah has long since been neglected, but also we haven't had much additions when it came to tamed wolves, so that'd be a great useful addition to the game. This is just my opinion, so what are your's? Or you know, just add all of them in the game because Mojang literally had the capacity to code in all three mobs in one game. Just look at the past updates before the mob votes for example.

My favorite thing about this years mob vote is the fact they made every mob have a use.

I get the whole community engagement thing they're trying to do with the mob vote, but honestly? Wish they would stop it altogether and just add these mobs into the game. Like, they aren't even like mystical mobs anymore. They're just normal animals you'd find in the wild IRL, and should've been added a long time ago to the base game. It just feels like their way of disguising how incredibly lazy they are at pushing out content for the main game. They need to get their crap together and focus on stuff that actually benefits the game in the long-run.

Armadillo will allow dog armor!!!!

Armadillo is definitely the best, the crab building can be easily ignored with things like scaffolding

I feel like the more limited mobs in Minecraft are what add to its charm

Hope that if the crab gets added, the claw item would have some combat capability in addition to helping place blocks further. How cool would that be?

Armadillos for me, i prefer it because with that crab hand thing item you can just put a temporary block to reach the height you want, penguin looks cute but i want to see armadillo rolls around , makes my wolf protected and savanna biome be more looking alive :)

In my opinion crab is the best choice since it helps the player whenever unlike the other 2 but the Armadillo is my choice.

Crab just adds one more mob to mangrove and a crab claw. The armadillio just looks cute and adds a mob for savannah and scute item for crafting dog amour. But the penguin looks cute, Have baby variants, are excellent swimmers which looks good, give more life to stony shores and boost your boat's speed, which is the most to anyone's comparison! Addition - their movement is also different from others and soo clumy, which looks cute, goofy ahh💀

I want all 3. But if I have to choose then definitely the armadillo. I love the wolves and keep them at home. That way they do not die. It took me forever to find mine. That armor will make me bring them with me

Seeing as these are real animals, I hope they will be eventually added to Minecraft in future updates, similar to the biome votes. It makes more sense bc the other mobs before were more unique, and not based on real animals. Also, I may vote for penguin to have SB737 added to Minecraft 😁. 2nd, armadillo. The long reach sounds cool, but if its an item to extend reach, it loses its purpose a bit

Armadillo. Plain and simple. No penguins. That would mean Santa Clause is coming to Minecraft, and I shall have to increase the effectiveness and potential of my anti-Santa defense system. Stupid Santa. Anyways, I feel it shalt come down to Armadillo vs. Crab, with the Armadillo coming out on top. However, if we get wolf armor, then we also need Netherite Horse Armor and armor trimming for both. Rockatoa, Brickticks out!

They should just add all of them. If they won't add them, mods are the last choice for most players. Besides, there's a lot of mobs that Mojang denied but mods have them. Crab claws are only used for builders, Armadillo scutes are good for survivalist players with pets, and the Penguins are good for explorers. Just add them all. Also, there is an existing bug about dolphins where you can attach a lead to them and ride a boat. It makes you move faster.
