Oh my goodness thank you for this nostalgia, it just made me happy. Funny thing ti, I still call the crafting table a workbench, so much so that even my gf calls it that now, and she only started playing somewhat recently.

Man as a 2018 player of minecraft i miss the old texture of lava and the old textures of the smerald and diamond blocks, and the old villagers house and i even remember it was super hard to find a village in 2018, the only upgrade that i love is when they removed the glass texture that it was nearly frustraiting to see through, thanks for the nostalgia.

Anybody remember when you couldn’t hold CTRL to sprint and had to double tap W? Also I hate recipe books. They’re good, but I hate them.

No one's talking about how skeletons didn't draw back their bows, or that large chests had huge lines down the middle.

When the old creative mode inventory showed up, I literally GASPED like that menu was my whole childhood

As an 8 yr old playing the game on 1.5 for the longest time, finding out that in the new 1.7.2 version, sheep dropped food or colored glass existed blew my mind Also I also built a house made of purely diamonds blocks, gold blocks, and emerald blocks

It's 2010. School is just done. You go home, turn on your old laptop and logged in to the server you friend made. Life was simple, Life was good

Remember when you couldn't tame house cats you had to tame ocelots? Remember when you could block with the sword? Remember when when creative mode the sword would break blocks? Remember before caves and cliffs there where amplified world's? Remember when every wood type gave oak planks? Remember on bedrock when you could manually save now it's only auto save. Remember on bedrock superflat you could customize the layers? Remember the tutorial world's? Remember when the ender portal was introduced but did nothing? Remember the old glass texture?

Awesome was the fact that you could get different colouring for the sky by editing textures + Adventure Mode mod was amazing, you could make a custom campaign with dialog boxes, quests, custom npcs etc. + I miss the old griefing, you could literally burn down whole New York with just 1 lit wooden plank + There were so many great mods that never got updated

I feel like I didn’t realize I was a vet. I stopped a few years then Picked it back up like I practically had to relearn everything with all the new stuff. I was like.. wow...wow..WOW...wow every couple minutes.

I also remember that sleeping in a bed would restore your health completely. I almost never bothered with getting and eating food because I could just sleep when night came.

I like the new villages but I would really love it if the old school villages had a small chance to spawn alongside the new ones. The villagers would also have their old outfits! So much memories finding those villages back in the day.

The water sounds brought back so many wonderful memories... And the old glass blocks looked horrible. The old nether blocks. I miss those days, so much.

For me, in the Beta versions of Minecraft, finding Diamonds was the key to the end game, which is teleporting to the Nether via Nether Portal. Finding Diamonds, with at least 3, I was able to craft a Diamond Pickaxe, mine 14 Obsidian and, with an Iron Ingot and a Flint, craft a Flint and Steel, to activate the Nether Portal. Once I reach the Nether, that was the end game.

Ty for calling me a veteran for the majority of the video. I remember exploring villages with a hope that they had a blacksmith house, because no other place there would have loot

Oh my god, as I was watching this I was actually considering booting up Beta 1.3 just to play the Glacier seed...and then it was mentioned a few points later. Man, it's such a good seed.

Does anybody else remember when you could hit players in creative with tools and they would lose durability? I loved messing with my friends doing this.

I miss 2012-2013 minecraft so much. the vibes were so good i can't explain it, you just had to be there.

I just remember when the inventory was really small and there were very little items to build with and the red bed was the only bed in the game I played pocket edition. But also I remember the old rose texture

I still remember when some of these changes happened. It took a while to get used to it. I'll still sometimes call crafting tables workbenches or do the old fence crafting recipe lol.

The changement about the spamming of the sword is just great Back then it was just who can spam the fastest, at least now it ask more than that

I've been playing minecraft for years now and my friend literally tried to argue with me over the old damage sound. We had a 20 minute argument over it- He kept trying to say that the sound was never in the game

This made me so sad. All of these I’m like “wow they got rid of that like a couple updates ago...” but no it’s been years. Almost a decade for some of these. Can make a grown man cry

When I was younger I played Minecraft Pocket Edition, I remember it being it’s own version for Mobile Devices, and I joined in Version 0.8.1, and it was when Minecarts were first added and Powered Rails were always on as a placeholder since Redstone didn’t exist. Since than, Pocket Edition turned into Bedrock.

How I miss blocking with the sword they should really add it back into the game such nostalgia 😩

That sword block was a universal sign of peace..

Who else remembers when Powered-Rails didn’t need a power source. They just turned on automatically when you placed them. I do.

I’m actually happy that spam clicking with weapons was removed. It made the game more challenging and fun. Minecraft servers that had gamemodes like PVP and Hunger Games were a lot more fair as well, and the controls that we have today make it a little easier for less experienced players.

I remember the old boat, the old cobblestone texture, the fact that creepers would jump-scare you when you walk past one side of a wall while a creeper is on the other side of the wall, the lighting would come in stages when it's getting dark, the rose, the old gravel texture, the fact that players couldn't see what the enchantment table language means in English, the achievements, the fact that mining crafting tables and furnaces, the feature that you can spam-click your sword, the fact that fire would spread insanely fast back then, the feature that you can block with your sword, the fact that caves only had stone and the ores that existed back then, the old lava texture, building diamond houses was a very popular Minecraft trend, the time where the Notch Apple had a crafting recipe, the time where dungeons would generate on the surface, the stars in the old versions of Minecraft, there wasn't a recipe book, the maximum build height of 128 blocks, the fact that animals like a sheep or a cow would jump all over the place, the time where the Crafting Table was called the Workbench, the old crafting recipe for Golden Apples, the village gravel pathways, the fact that you can only place stairs in one type of way, the logo with the orange bold text and the black bold text in the Mojang logos, the fact that it would take your buckets when you craft a cake instead of only taking the milk, the fact that it would pull you down like you were drowning, the fact that the spawners in dungeons would look like it's spawning a pig, the ability to block with your sword, the old splash sound, the time that villages had these budget-looking lamps, the fact that deserts would have a couple of little lakes, the fact that tamed wolves had red collars and that name tags didn't exist back then. I am definitely a Minecraft veteran.

I know quite a good chunk of this, as I still main good old 1.7.10, primarily for my mods but also for the nostalgia. Heck, the old launcher is practically burned into my mind as it's one of the things I saw the most of for years, coming home from school and opening up Minecraft with my dad's old Acer laptop or playing multiplayer on the road with this specialized Virgin Mobile USB thing that allowed me to get a Wi-Fi connection just about anywhere... yeah, that was my childhood and early teenagehood. And bud, you forgot something - if you still remember when Herobrine was first invented and if you watched that fateful Brocraft stream from Copeland, then you are a true Minecraft veteran.

man i remember when beds didn’t even exist and you had to hide underground or in a blocked off cave to survive the night. its crazy to think how long ago that was yet it feels like last week

I never played Minecraft in alpha or beta, but I do remember seeing a video about the rarest Minecraft food and it was cookies. So I remember me going to creative, getting a stack of cookies, and going back into survival thinking I had the rarest food in the game

I didnt play minecraft for like 5-6 years and recently started playing again... the changed recipes, cheap enchanting, etc. were soooo weird lol the recipe book too. back when I was active knowing every recipe was just a basic skill.

I remember this one time, when me and my brothers would make a house out of wooden planks, and make the floors out of all the ore blocks that were in the game before they added the Netherite block in 1.16

I made a diamond house once, my sister and I were playing together. She had made her house in a snow biome and I made mine in the desert. She made a cool balcony of ice and I wanted to do it too. So I did. It ended up having my house flooded and me having nightmares for a long time I was seven

It's funny to see some of these "old" features while I still play Version 1.8 meaning that I see some of these features in my everyday game

It’s kind of interesting that some of the Minecraft sounds that we here today are pretty much higher pitched versions of those old alpha/beta days sounds.

One of the first things I ever built in Minecraft was a massive mansion made out of three block layers of diamond and gold blocks.

28:46 I actually continue to use 1 3 and 0 as commands, and when it says wrong i'm sad that they removed it. It was pretty much faster

I wish they would bring back blocking with a sword and yes there is a shield but blocking with a sword would only protect you so much and the strength of parrying blows would depend upon the sword from wood to netherite.

The first version/oldest version I have played is probably "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" Yes. Good times. and that was when the 360 version was about 4 or 5 years old, in 2015/2016 and I still haven't beaten the ender dragon, wither, or even the elder guardian is survival mode ;w;
