I have learned more about resin from you Steve, than from anyone else on KZfaq. You always give useful advise, and you always explain what you're doing as you're doing it, which is really helpful. Thanks for everything Steve. God bless you and your family.

I love watching your videos. I feel like I'm popping in on a friend and we're just having a play with some resin. I love that you are never overly fussed when something doesn't come out exactly as planned and that you are willing to experiment and just see what happens. Just wanted to say thank you for your videos.

Hi Steve, I have this mold and I love it! I think you have an awesome way to make the fingers look natural with a bit of shadowing with acrylic paint. I will try that with the next one I make. I also painted mine using color changing pigment powders the same way you did. And thank you for the tip on the micro brushes. I saw them on your channel and used the link to get some. You are absolutely right...I love them for all kinds of projects!!;

Thanks for all your videos, I find them very useful as I'm new to using resin. I have a question, I cover painted rocks with art resin, the resin cures up well and are lovely and shiny inside the house but once I put them outside in the garden they end up with a white chalky residue on them. However, when I bring them back inside the chalky residue disappears. What am I doing wrong please?
@ZippedUpKitz
@ZippedUpKitz 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you don’t have the rocks completely covered In The resin and you have gotten some air in between the rock's surface and the resin itself… I have found that if I don’t want something like that to happen, I will completely submerge the piece In The resin and let it completely soak through… if you end up with too thick of a layer, you can always sand it down…

How resistant are you to known carcinogens incidentally populating your skin, lungs, and eyes? Wear the PPE. For similar reasons spray-painters still paint outside with PPE, and longstanding carpenters wear PPE concerning something as "innocuous" as sawdust, it's important to wear the appropriate gear if you want to keep a stable level of you continued quality of life. If not, you can experience effects as acutely as 2-3 hours in, or as late at as 10 years down the line (common for professionals to acquire chronic issues this way). Either way, doing the craft carries some inherent risk regardless, so it's better to at least give yourself a buffer against the easily preventable.
