Free WordPress Hosting Tutorial (With SSL) - InfinityFree Setup Tutorial

In part 2 of the video (Skip to part two here: @14:55) You'll learn how to add your own domain name to your InfinityFree hosting. This will allow you to use your own .com .net or anything you want. You can even try using a free domain from freenom.com too!
Finally, this method allows you to use a free Cloudflare account to add SSL security to InfinityFree - this is a must to learn!

I changed my url from the free one to my custom one in wordpress before the simple SSL installed because I was getting errors so I thought it was because it was using the free domain and now I can't access wordpress because it says my custom domain isn't secure. Will this fix over time or will I need to do something to fix it? because I can't go through the SSL setup anymore. I don't think its because of the name servers because it updated and said complete on cloudflare. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Hey man thanks a lot, i hit the like button. Just a question, when i open my domain i get this message: ''An Error Occurred . Services for this domain name have been disabled." with a fancy font and some vector art. When the site is not available yet it usually shows the advertisement as you said or something like ''this site cannot be reached". Is it normal?

But why is my domain name not working in infinityfree? Because when I want to try it comes out to me "404! We couldn't find that page. Please check to make sure you've typed the URL correctly. This webserver is CaSe SenSiTiVe so ensure capital letters in the URL match the files uploaded."

Hi as a begginer i'm using freenom for domain and infinity free for hosting when im trying to get cloudfare ssl it show that i have to change 2 nameservers but in freenom 5 nameservers so what should i do to change it should i rename first 2 nameservers and keep the rest as it is or should i change all name nameservers Thank you

Copy the two name servers Leave other name servers blank

ok, 1) first step is set the freenom DNS setttings to point to the infinityfree servers. 2) Wait until the website starts working with the freenom domain name (can take a wihle) 3) Now go into cloudflare, and add the freenom domain name to your cloudflare account, cloudflare will give you new name servers to point to. 4) Now you can go back to freenom and change the DNS to point to your cloudflare DNS. Just use the two that cloudflare gave you and leave the other three blank. Now, you should be able to use flexible SSL in cloudflare and get the padlock... hope it works

1. Point godaddy to infinityfree dns, 2. add the domain to Cloudflare, Cloudflare will automatically add infinity free dns 3. Change godaddy to Cloudflare name server - good luck, Alex

Hi. Great video. I have free domain from freenom i.e. (.ga). Domain hosting is infinity free. I followed all the steps. I came to step that cloudfare is protecting my site. I hope it works after 3 hours. If it does not then what should i do?

Hey can anyone help me with this. I did this and added woocommerce to start a online store. I have 2 suppliers and I’m trying sync my designs, prices etc to my site. On both the being back an error message thst it won’t sync. They were connected cuz I see the API thst was made, it’s trying to have access but something is blocking it. The tech team said the DDOS from my hosting is blocking it. Can I fix this? N how do I go about doing so

Hi, thanks for your tutorial. As i"m not a computer men I follow your steps one by one and wait more than 12 hours for an SSL certificate. But nothing change. I still have: "Detected possible certificate issues". Can you please solve my problem with this issue? maybe some other plugin will work? to continue and end your tutorial?? Thank you Arie .w

Try posting the full detail here: forum.infinityfree.net/ Really though, this is not an easy one for beginners - you might prefer just to get some cheap hosting and let them set it up for you rather than trying yourself for free...

@@IdeaSpot Thanks for your replay. In the mean time SSL working perfect. I"v install ASTRA, but woocommerce faild to install. I try to plugin woocomnerce with no success. So I install woocommerce v.4.1.0 via zilafile, and i do see the plugin of woocomnerce on wp but can't activate. Can you helpe me pleas? Thank you

I bought a godaddy wordpress hosting basic plan but they say it does not support 3rd party ssl and they are charging 4k/year for ssl. Could you please help me somehow? Onebench.in is my domain

Hi, just use the cloudflare 'flexible' option and then it should still work for free (You can actually use the method in this video in a similar way with godaddy) - you won't need to install a certificate on godaddy like that. This will give you the padlock icon, it's just not as secure as having a host certificate though. good luck

After I completed the SSL following all the steps exactly as shown my site doesn’t work. When I try to enter the admin site, I get this error on chrome. “This site cannot provide a secure connection. *******.com sent an invalid response. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR” do you know a fix please lol?

Hi, you need your own domain (subdomain won't work) - if you want a free one try freenom.com or you can get very cheap ones like .space .site .xyz from GoDaddy

I tried with another one of my sites and it said parts of this sites are not secure such as images...there is an https and an padlock icon but there is a yellow mark how to fix this? It worked with two other of my sites but not the third one...how can I fix this?

Hi :) sorry, the resources are too limited to run woocommerce on freehosting. You could try just making some paypal buttons and doing the payment on paypal side, or linking to a free cart like squareup, or even somewhere like etsy? Otherwise just get some better hosting!

You need to point the domain to the infinityfree DNS first and wait for it to start working. After that step you can set up cloudflare.

You could try the free tier on google cloud (f1-micro vps) , it's a bit more advanced than using infinity but its a good project to try :)

I think they could be OK if you buy the paid one so you own the name properly, but the I have heard that the free ones are easy to lose sometimes...

Followed your steps by using Freenom and Cloudfare... Got this error up to know: "Really Simple SSL failed to detect a valid SSL certificate. If you do have an SSL certificate, try to reload this page over https by clicking this button" Went to Really Simple for instructions, but failed again... don't know what to do... I'm new to this development stuff, a help would be appreciated... :(

Cloudflare origin certificates or Let's Encrypt have both been good, but I could only get cloudflare flexible working in this free method unfortunately.
