the fact that they put sign language into their choreography is very touching, they put a meaningful message in this song one of which is to stop racism and in the last scene they dance with the staff who have worked hard with them, it is an act of great appreciation. thx for reacting permission to dance💜

@@sjplus36 I believe it refers to the fact they had people of all ages and colors represented, especially near the end where all the children are standing together. The message being no matter who you are we all share the same feelings and can get along. People are people and love is love no matter what you look like. But as with any and all music and MV, the interpretation is in the ears and eyes of the viewer.💜

There’s a reason they reference Elton John…this song has a big “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” vibe. And that isn’t bad at all. It’s very, happy pop but it’s exactly what you’d expect from a BTS English, summer song written by Ed Sheeran after being locked down in a pandemic. Justin Timberlake did this a few years ago with “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. It’s nice to just smile and enjoy a happy song!!!

@Prynciss Chellz right. Elton is Ed’s mentor (pretty sure) and Ed’s newest song (Bad Habits) definitely has Elton vibes as well. It’s that 70s, disco, string based pop. ELO, Elton John, Earth, Wind, and Fire kind of sound. Love it.

@@pamelakrause9311 I agree. It’s not like the song references a specific lyric or anything. But I don’t think it’s meant to be a deep reference either. He made a lot of upbeat pop, this is in that same vein, and his name rhymed in the verse.

Ive been teaching my daughter to sign and learning it myself. I saw look and talk earlier in the song. Nice song. Edit: just saw "look" signed asl. In a song that focuses on sign, those really stand out. Also the purple balloons represent independence and freedom. I remember "barbecuing while black " and this song made me cry y'all BTS had donated 1 mil won to the deaf assoc in korea and 1 mil to blm. There's also children, the elderly, black, masks. Purple balloons can signify death as well. Letting the balloons go in the end as well as the masks seem to be important as well.

Some of the movements in the choreography come from International Sign Language: Dance, Joyful (Happy) & Peace. This MV show different ages from kids to adults with different cultures/nationalities, ordinary people, from office workers, mail carrier, server, janitor, teacher or etc..."Because we don't need no permission to dance". "Life goes on". The right vibe.Enjoy life after Covid sort of vibe. We survived & the purple balloon signal hope for the future. I loved Sopes dance...and Hobis entire look was 🔥 Joon with the blessed vocals with Suga playing the piano in the back The fact that we got a shit ton of centre Jin 👌🏼 Tae embracing the western look like his first words were yee-haw Jimin and JK rocking all black, ad-libbing like crazy, working those vocals, and just being PERFORMERS. Also for any Spanish speaking viewers, I know you can relate that at first I thought JK was singing in SPANISH saying “Esta tarde…” then I read the lyrics and saw what he actually said in ENGLISH. 💜💜💜

Yes at the end of the song they are doing sign language. The arms and hands going up and down and thumbs half bent means "fun", palm up and two fingers moving side to side means "dance", and the hands up are making peace signs. I was laughing when you guys stopped to read the wall behind JK and it was the lyrics Hobi just finished singing. And Ron says, those sound like lyrics or something 🤣. I love watching your reactions. I have followed you for a very long time so it's nice to see how far you have come 💜💜💜

This MV really shows who BTS are. They deliver songs with a message no matter what the public says… I’m glad they did this video with clear intentions to express what we all feel but too self conscious to show. Who cares about the KZfaq views. I’m happy to see they are keeping true to who they are.

What saddened me is that so many people complained about the song, called BTS a "white boy band" and just kept whining and whining how BTS are westernized. They only released 3 English songs and they're acting like they released a whole English album. And this song was a gift for Army, and what did they do? Chewed it up and spat it out like it was nothing. Really showed their true colors. Overall, Permission To Dance is a really great song. It's amazing 💜

I think V was a big influence in this video. With V being the creator of "I Purple You", a message to Army and now Purple being a official color for BTS. "I left a purple balloon in your dream" was a message that V sent to comfort one Army during Covid. V has also has been using a lot of sign language lately. So I think that he had them include it into this video as to help more Army to be able to understand this Video. V is a very thoughtful and caring person as well as the other members. Sign Language: Scratching their body while raising thumb and slightly benting rest of fingers means "Fun". Moving two fingers side to side on top of palm means "Dancing". Fingers up and down touching thumb means "Talking". Two fingers moving means "Walking". And holding up two fingers also means "Peace". This was a Celebration of Army (Showing different Ages, Genders, Nationalities, Jobs/Roles and including their own Crew and staff). BTS loves their Army.

Yes they used the words *"dance, happy* and *fun* in sign language and the peace sign which is the signature pose that *V* uses. I love the choreography, lyrics, the hidden messages and the outfits. Loved y’all reactions! 💜 yes at the end of the video you saw “dance” in sign language. However there are 3 incorporated 3 sign languages all in once! Dance -American sign language. Joy(happy) and peace are other 2 international signs. You know thumbs up during da na na? That is joy(happy) then peace signs when they put their hands up. #deafarmy

The signs that they are doing are: **Hands alt ⬆️⬇️ on chest with thumbs up= joyful/happy **✌downwards towards palm and swing wrist back and forth=💃🕺dancing 💃 **✌upward = peace **walking fingers up arm=walk **✌touch index finger to outer eye with middle finger pointing out.(not down like posing for pictures) Then pull from eye towards who you are looking 👀= I see you/I'm watching you These are the ones sign language signs i saw immediately. I have some hearing loss and learned when I was young so I am glad to see BTS do something like this 💜

10:25 if you didn’t know, the people behind them aren’t backup dancers, they are their staff-team, like stylist team staff, music team staffs, direction team staffs etc... this was really heart-warming to add them in the mv cause workers and staffs like them were the most helpless ones in this pandemic in a way..this mv felt really heart-warming to see all these people of different races and types being in the mv💜🥺

There's actually a lot going on in the video. They have shown all like the workers, the waitresses, office workers, there was a lady delivering mails, teacher and janitor in school so they're like thanking everybody for being so helpful and still continuing these important jobs even in the pandemic. Then there's obviously sign language in the MV and the lyrics are obviously so deep and inspiring and at the end they're actually dancing with all the crew members and bang PD and the new HYBE ceo are also there towards the left and the background dancers also have like HYBE trainees in them. As expected from BTS, a really nice song that leaves you with a smile on your face.

It’s amazing that they showing support for the disabled as July is disability awareness month n it also showed in one of the scene there’s a sign on the wall showing “disability resources”.

I'm loving the cowboy/country style they have going on and I'm also giving props to the stylist noonas for styling them this way and also props o to the people in the MV as you could see they were clearly havin fun. I'm loving the beat and the line " I don't need permission to dance" will be stuck in my head for ever and always now, also it's such and iconic line and is up there with " Get it, Let it roll". I'm also loving the beat of the music as it'd so happy and upbeat and really summery, it also makes me wanna smile just seeing them have fun. The choreo is so groovy and makes me wanna dance and I just wanna groove with it also as there isn't really that much choreo it's really easy to dance too. I love their MV as it shows the boys having fun with eachother and other people also the vocals are as amazing as ever, I especially love yoongis vocals as he really can sing, and it makes me wanna sing along. It all being English aswell also makes it their 3rd all English song and this one is just as catch as Dynamite and Butter. Also I love the message behind the song ad it basically says no matter what or where you are if you here music you love just dance along to it as you don't need permission to dance and have fun. Us armys are getting so spoilt on our birthday and o just love the guys so much and you can clearly see how much they love us back k by just seeing how hard they work and how they care about us. You'll never get another band like BTS who love their fans so much and who works so hard for them. Thankyou BTS for a wonderful birthday present.

I literally cried by the end of the MV when I watched it! Its so positive and uplifting. It’s the sign for dance and the words in the background are lyrics they sing in the song. And of course ALLSINGING!! Amazing… Love you guys. Always happy to share your good vibes 😎

I cried while watching this MV for 20th times. Biggest flex is that, they gave this to ARMY'S as a Gift for our 8th year anniversary. Second is July is actually a Disability Pride month, and just by seeing how they incorporated SIGN LAGUAGE TO THEIR CHOREO is just THE MOST WHOLESOME THING. And it's more healing when you realized that when you scrambled the word PERMISSION TO DANCE= STORIES ON PANDEMIC WHICH ARE ALL SHOWN TO THE WHOLE MV. I LOVE BTS, FOREVER AND ALWAYS. Best GIFT EVER!
