This video is the third video within the Bangtan Universe! The first one (where Jimin was burning the paper that you remembered) was I Need U. The video that exists in between the two is On Stage Prologue, which is a short film more than a music video. If you go and watch that one, find one with on screen English captions as the official version doesn't have them. It might be worth rewatching I Need U before you watch On Stage Prologue to remind yourself of what happened. I'll reply to this comment with a link to the On Stage Prologue!

The song is part of the BU: Bangtan Universe... it's the fictional story that run across multiple media of BTS. Their is MVs, Webtoon, 2books, VCRs...... There is a Playlist for the BU and also Xcelete has made few videos on the whole storyline as well. The BU is another big hole once you fall into, it's a whole another world lol 💜💜💜💜

You can well see and discover how BTS grew up with their music. Early in their debut, they were teenagers who protest against the school-based system and the injustices of society, and say to us don't let adults and older ones stop you from your dreams . After that, in "HYYH" albums and I need you, run, and young forever , little by little, they entered their youth, first they afraid of that, they made mistakes, they didn't want to grow up , but at the end, in younfg forever MV accept it and entered their youth. The loveyourself series teaches us how to love ourselves in the face of fake love and problems, even if we are imperfect, even if we are not complete. If you read the lyrics of whole albums you understand how each song is teaching us to love ourselves in every conditions. it's telling us how beautiful and precious human we are in each and every songs in different ways and different vibes. And finally, in the Map of the Soul albums, the boys got to know themselves better and tried to love themselves consciously. And BE album made for the pandemic and difficult conditions of society. So you can see each album describes the mental state of boys at the age they are, and it is true that BTS music grew with them and has reached this point so far.

I think it starts with danger, then I need you and Japanese ver ( the one you reacted), Prologue, Run and Japanese ver (the one you just reacted), Young Forever (the one you just heard at the end of the MV video ), Boy meets evil (jhope song), Begin short film (Jungkooks song), Lie short film (Jimin song), Stigma short film (v song), First love short film (Yoongi song), Reflection short film ( Namjoons song), Mama short film (JHope song), Awake short film (Jin’s song), Blood Sweat and tears both Korean and Japanese versions, Love Yoursef Highlight reel I think there’s 4 videos of the highlights reels, Euphoria (Jungkooks song), Fake love, Love yourself: Epiphany (jins song), and the album Map of the Soul keeps the story going. The reason some of this is confusing, and why you recognize it, is because this is part of the storyline. The end clip with Jimin in the tub burning the photo - you saw this in in the music video for I Need U. But having said that, every song in the storyline does have their own meanings. This one is a huge culmination of YOUTH. The fun, the comradery, the light, the excitement, the rebellion - but juxtaposed with the dark, the torment, the anger, the loneliness, the pain, the trauma. The Chinese symbol was for HYYH - hwa yeon yeong hwa - which means "the time when blossoms bloom" or the beautiful moment in life - youth, young adulthood. For me, I'm with her - the song itself was alright, but it was the music video, combined with the meaning and intention behind the song, that really made it a masterpiece to me.

You guys should react to the BU storyline. Every member has a separate storyline and back story in that, which is a foundation for most of their MVs, especially their wings short films. No one knows for sure what exactly is happening, but there are a lot of theory videos that might give you an idea of what's happening.

This is part of BU (Bangtan Universe) which is the fictional storyline that runs through many of their MVs. They even have a webtoon series on it called Save Me and actual BOOK (Notes 1 and Notes 2). It is pretty deep and complicated, but basic storyline is that 7 boys (BTS members) all have some kind of "issues" (jhope is an orphan, suga lost his mom in fire accident, RM lives in poverty, JK has abusive step brothers/dad, Jimin suffered childhood trauma, V has alcoholic/abusive dad, Jin is from rich fam but his dad is manipulative and controlling). They meet in highschool and become best friends. But something happens and they all separate. Jin goes to the states and comes back years later to find out bad things happened to his friends and he tries to save them by rewinding time and tries different things to change the future. Everytime he does that, he sacrifices his memories. This storyline is STILL ONGOING and we are expecting to see more in their future songs/mvs (their new song Film Out teaser that dropped yesterday is throwing out hints that it could be the continuation of the storyline!). I guess no one told you that certain videos (especially in the earlier eras) are heavy on the Bangtan Universe (BU) imagery like this one. So they get complex really fast. If you guys are not ready to dive into BU, you can check out the dance practice of the songs instead of the MV. Unless of course, you are ready to get into the BU, then I'm sure someone has already shared the list of videos to watch in order to help you find your way (because it could get a little muddled in there ;) ) Anyway, good luck! and great job on sharing the ARMY love!

Welcome back Brit! The MV was I Need U. The next in the series is the Prologue!!!! Prologue!!!!! Prologue!!!!! It gets more into their story and the song they use is Butterfly.🙏 The boys each have their own backstory where they have problems ( domestic violence, severe poverty, depression, etc.) and they are happiest when they are together. This is part of the Bangtan Universe!! Most of their earlier songs are part of it, it gets pretty heavy and very complicated so prepare yourselves. The song was indeed Butterfly, there is technically a MV for it but it's called the Prologue. The MV you were thinking about was Epiphany by Jin! Which is also part of the BU! After you guys watch a few more of their older MVs and maybe some of their short clips, you can react to an explanation of the BU since it's pretty complicated. Can't wait for more!GVG

This forms part of the Bangtan Universe so a lot happens that is hard to understand without watching the MV’s before. It’s an ongoing storyline that was even still going on when Map of The Soul came out. Worth delving in to but be prepared to be driven insane trying to figure out what everything means. Once you have followed it, there is a video that explains everything. The Bangtan Universe encompasses music videos, webtoons, story books and an online game. It’s full on, but to be a hardcore ARMY, we all fall into it.

This video is a part of the BTS universe storyline, kinda connected to I need you. Also the ending is not the behind the scenes, its basically the video's from the camera rolls from the characters in the storyline if that makes sense. The BTS storyline goes really really deep and apart from music videos, it's shown through highlight reels, onstage prologue, concert VCRs, the notes (written things that come along with albums), a webtoon and even a game released by them. All of these giving us bits and pieces of the story. Also, this storyline is very confusing so take your time getting into it

theres nothing is strange to a non Kpop fan watching BTS, im a BTS Filo army but im not a Kpop fan in general. U can stan BTS without being stereotyped as a Kpop fan specially when u only stanned artists because its BTS & nothing else. This was such a throwback! Back when this came out, the fandom was soooo deep in the whole symbolism-search for everything in the BU (Bangtan Universe). The way this reminds me of the theories and cinematic imagery exploration I did when this came out (from I Need U and up until Blood Sweat & Tears).

There are many BTS songs that I didnt like on first listen, but grew to be my ultimate faves after many more listens and watching more content such as dance practices, behind-the-scenes and live performances. Run is one of those songs for me. Theres something magical about BTS performing a song live. They literally bring a song to life, and makes you appreciate that song even more.

We got time travel, narcolepsy, child abandonment, depression, um... triggering words, also friendship?....... We don't know! YAS!!! This is how I found BTS myself some 6 years ago! I fell in love with the storyline and it intrigued and confused me so much I was in the hole before I even realized! The story concepts are at a whole other level!! There are so many views to interpret them but still beautifully depicted! Their whole team is just phenomenal!! Of course the boys are super talented!! 💜💜💜 I hope the twins will get a chance to watch all the MVs and see if they can figure it out. I *love* everything about Run: the feels of youthful unrest and rebellion in the MV, the cool choreo, and of course the energetic yet hauntingly beautiful song. Rap and vocals killed. 💜💜💜

Love seeing first time reactions. Plus, I'm still grappling with their message and talent and personalities and .... all the rest ... hearing what you have to say on top of what I know and think is gratifying. Thank you for enjoying them as much as I do. 💜👵 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know there is a wealth of talent out there and I find them eventually. HOWEVER! BTS is something special. Maybe because we've seen them at their youngest and get to watch them mature. It's what a really good group of artists' do, right?!? The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel (especially Garfunkel), even Lady Gaga. They entertain as they learn and grow up. Their performance changes constantly, but not their innate talent.

Welcome to the BU my guys. This MV is connected to the BU storyline which runs through all of their HYYH series (this is the third MV by order I believe). Back in 2015, when this came out - there were soooo many different videos on theories/books that that the MVs referred to - it was chaotic and beautiful. Im sure there are some compilation videos now that could be helpful. Hope you react to those too!

The thing about BTS is their songs are directly linked to their growth.. that’s why each era is so different. They bring what they feel during that particular era. And the last song is Butterfly. This is the BTS universe era, and there’s so many things to go into

This music video is a REALLY important part of the storyline that runs through all of bts’ music videos. You’ve probably noticed for some of their MVs that the visuals don’t match up with the lyrics: that’s because the music videos are all part of a pretty heartbreaking storyline. You should watch “bts storyline explained”! Its pretty accurate and takes you through all of it ... it’s an intricate one and will have you tearing up so be prepared! I think you guys are ready, you’ve watched enough of the music videos to understand. Love your reactions by the way!

It's a part of the story line of BU! The HYYH and Wings are just about the story line, we got theyories, a lottt of them! You definitely should check them from the beginning! Starting with I need you, which you did, and that's why you remember Jimin's scene!
