Arches allowed people to build bigger, span farther, and reach higher than ever before, but they also represent nearly a dozen different architectural styles. Hidden in the brick work are clues you can spot, telling you “who was here” without ever needing to read a plaque.

Thanks for the valuable information. There is one correction though: the origin of pointed arches is from Sumer Mesopotamia (ancient Iraq). Islamic civilization introduced the Sumerian pointed arches to Europe.

@@haideraliibnakhlaq8823 No, they aren't. Pointed arches were created by Byzantine engineers and architects, who themselves built upon older Greco-Roman tradition... Muslims merely adopted their technique

Roman and Romanesque architecture is not the same. And it's nonsense to say that Romanesque arches are not christian. Really - Romanesque arches are even more christian than Gothic arches.
