one of my co-workers had a dog jet out of the door when the owner answered it. He ended up flying backwards off the porch and twisting his ankle. Smh. That address was denied delivery after that

the lady saying it was too cold to go downstairs was stupid and the person ordering food and not being home expecting the guy to put it under a car was stupid too. I'm always checking the app and tracking where the driver is and meet them outside, they don't even have to get out of the car.

I did pizza delivery back in college and it was honestly one of my favorite jobs that I have worked. There were nights where you would do REALLY well with tips, and other nights where you would get a free pizza that a customer never came to pick up. The shifts would also go by super fast because you were always on the move...There was really nothing to complain about other than some wear and tear on your car. You got the right idea though....Even if you wouldn't get a tip, you just smile and say "Thanks for ordering from us, enjoy the food!". There were actually a few customers that were known as "no tippers" that started to tip me later on because I was pleasant to them every time I would go out. My less friendly coworkers never got a tip from them lol. Gotta win em over with kindness!

I help setup boxes for the drivers and they always ask me why I don’t drive. Honestly way too many things that can go wrong during the day as a driver. I’m cool with the wear house 🤣

Don't order delivery if you can't tip. Get off your butt, get in your own car, burn your own gas, and go get it yourself.

I work in the wear house helping set the trucks up. Sometimes the boxes get to us already destroyed before the driver even gets them. We usually rebox the ones we can but some ppl don’t give a shit and push everything through.

They don’t pay the drivers of food delivery, just like they don’t pay servers at restaurants. It is the culture to allow people to choose what to tip according to service provided, however there are a lot of people who think that means zero tip is fine as well. Zero is never fine.

They don't get paid enough, and they have to pay for their own gas and extra repairs on their cars, no benefits or protections for the independent contractors. If you are in the U.S. you should always tip a decent amount except in very rare circumstances. Don't take advantage of people who are already being ripped off by the company they work for.

They base pay here plus mileage and the company always says PLUS TIPS! Companies here can get away with it. I agree it's stupid on so many levels. I would order more food if I wasn't expected to tip.

In my country (and other normal countries) those are standard services and the workers actually receive a living wage for it. Paying the workers their money is employer's responsibility, not customer's.
