My husband and I sacrificed for 6 years to pay for 2 kids college. We were turned down for any type of help from the government! We had to take out a HELOC to help pay for expenses. We paid everything ourselves only to have to pay for all these other peoples kids college loans! This situation makes me furious!

Most of the loans these stupid students take out are for lifestyle enhancement, not tuition and books. They use the money for expensive restaurant meals, drugs, booze, expensive shoes, etc. etc. etc.

We helped 3 kids through college, just their BS Degree. We took loans they took loans and paid them off. I should NOT have to pay for anyone else’s kids loans. Total BS!

It's the state of the Nation, another example, look at all the vehicle licenses on road with 1-2 year old tags. It's baffling to me that the CEO is that substandard. I have been a donor of my college since graduating (more than 6 figures contributed). As a result of that college allowing encampments, civil unrest, intimidation and hate speech during the recent chaotic protests, they will NEVER again get a dime from me and i will never even attend another one of their events... not even a football game! My season tickets will go to charity and not be renewed.

My undergraduate education was funded by taxpayers. However, I dedicated 20 years of my life to service in uniform, enduring hardships in various locations worldwide. In my perspective, I've earned my bachelor's degree through my contributions. These individuals (kids) haven't demonstrated any significant effort to warrant government support for their education. They simply made poor choices by failing to fulfill their obligations. In life, one must accept the consequences of their decisions, even if it means merely sacrificing some opportunities due to those decisions.

If it's unfair to forgive student loan debts, then individuals and businesses being allowed to declare bankruptcy is also unfair for much the same reason. Some individuals and businesses had to make all kinds of sacrifices just to make it, so it would be unfair for other individuals and businesses who didn't make it to declare bankruptcy. People outraged by student loan forgiveness, if they are going to be consistent, should also be outraged by the government allowing individuals and businesses to get a "freebee" by declaring bankruptcy. Anything less seems like selective outrage.The bank bailout was "unfair." Allowing debt forgiveness via bankruptcy is "unfair." I was told of a person who was $70,000 in debt from a spree of strip bars and alcohol and then had it all forgiven via declaring bankruptcy. How is that fair?

The only counter argument to student loan forgiveness is bankruptcy. You can't discharge them in bankruptcy, but Amazon or O'Leary's companies can discharge loans in bankruptcy. By that logic, we need to end bankruptcy and re-institute debt prisons.

I put four kids through college and two of them are still in college with no debt, no loans. We pay as we go and sacrifice vacations and other luxuries in order to do it. Where there is a will there is a way. It’s crazy that after putting my own children through college that as I a tax player I will be saddled with over a trillion dollars of student debt forgiveness that neither I nor any of my children benefitted from. This is not right.
