Hi Jim, first comment on one of your videos but have been a subscriber for a while. I think your mate said it best, it's the fact that you can ride out from your house that is the biggest positive, also you don't need a descent to have fun. An XC hardtail is also a lot of fun on these rides. Keep up the good work.

They’re great fun and this vid sums up the experience perfectly . You find yourself just exploring all over the place for miles. I love mtb and gravel riding is a great companion to mtb riding

Great vid Jim, recently turned an old commuter bike into a gravel type bike with some small nobblies. Good fun being able to nip from country lanes to canal path, bridleways etc. Cover plenty of distance aswell. Quite like it myself 👍

I've recently added to gravel bike to my line up, also have a full sus XC, plus E bike and I absolutely love it. Love the fact I decided what sort of riding I want to do and grab the best bike for the job. We have miles and miles of gravel tracks around here in notts with all the disused colliery land and disused railway lines converted to cycle tracks.

You’ve got a dream garage there Jim! Plenty of decent gravel rides out through south of Shropshire. I got a RX9 in April and did loop from Shrewsbury around Church Stretton, great!

It's my 1995 Univega 5.5 rigid with shite bars! We used to run skinny tyres in mud bitd with rigid forks. This is not new, just going back to the old days minus the bars? Straight bars with bar ends do the same job. So I will enjoy my retro bike in the same way as these and the modern for more knarley. Thanks for sharing Jim, but if you were to hop onto one of your first bikes, it would be the same experience.

Fantastic video Jim, Gravel bikes are so versatile, a second set of wheels and tyres it’s a road bike, I’m using mine (Ribble CGR) as a gravel / winter road bike. 👍

Love my Gravel bike, bought it for a bit of bike packing as well to just up and do one for a weekend. Bought a wtb dynamo front wheel to also charge the gadgets 👍🏼 Nice change of vlog and some good skills Jim haha I get tetchy with no dropper though on the decents 😂

Hi Jim, welcome to gravel. I've just sold my road bike to buy a second gravel bike to go with my steel hardtail and carbon dually. To be honest I ride my gravel bikes about 80 percent of the time now. Great vid by the way, you guys were flying. Cheers

🤣🤣🤣 made me giggle when you were on the drops 😄 😆... I've got a road bike and now have a gravel bike with 650b wheels with 47mm tyres tubeless and now got a Trek Roscoe 7 hardtail with 27.5 plus wheels best of both worlds as I'm getting back into mountain biking as well after being off since 2015, switched to a fat bike for 3 years but damaged my left knee after bike packing for 6 days in the lake district, big climbs took it's toll on my knee, so sold it and went for the gravel bike as it would be cool for off road and bike packing trips. got the plus bike on my ride to work 42% discount no brainer 👍😉 great vid 👍 loved it made me laugh 😀 👍

Get some wider, more flared bars and wider tyres and it makes it even more fun, especially in the gnar! I didn't like it in the drops at first, then I got some wider bars with a bigger flare and it feels much more stable in the drops to the extent that I now spend as much time in the drops as the hoods. The drops are much better on the rough stuff as well as you can get a much better grip and better braking leverage.

I'd not be without my old Charge Bikes Plug 3, which is sort of a pre-cursor to gravel bikes. Sometimes when I just want to cover some miles and get out, on a route that I know isn't really too gnarly, it's perfect and a lot easier to move about than the Slackline is.

Love my gravel bike. Sometimes it’s great to just go for a mellow ride on it. Don’t like riding on roads, and it just turns mellow trails, bridlepaths and fire roads into a whole lot of fun.

Please do more gravel bike vlogs! I have a bmx, mtb and a gravel bike and I love them all but my gravel bike gets the most riding time simply because I can have a decent ride from my doorstep . I can ride for miles and always get some decent gravel gnar in. I reckon you might get some gravel riding subscribers too

I got one month and a half ago whilst waiting for my new mountain bike which won’t be built till end of this month. They are fun on the right trails but painful if you try and use them as you would a mtb. Ive fallen off mine so many times

Im ex xc racer and ride road too.i got a planet x London road sl i use it on road or swap for wtb knobby tyres at about 25psi its faster on easy stuff than my mtb and fun , i done gravel event and came in first yet on mtb i found event v hard . There a do it all bike really

kids and adults have been riding their bicycles , on multiple surfaces for longer than i've been riding a bike and that's over seventy years . suddenly now in the last ten years or so it's called 'Gravel Riding ' ? lol , how ridiculous is that .
