Looked more like the other car wasn't paying attention and didn't realize there were stopped cars in front of him, and instinctively swerved to avoid hitting them, only to end up in the oncoming lane. If you listen carefully, you can kind of make out the sound of tires screeching as he tries to brake.

I have done that and it works so well.

You didn’t think that idea through very well. Imagine cars honking every time they brake. Anyway, This video contained zero clips where a person hit their horn instead of the brake and had a collision, so you comment here makes no sense. In fact there were multiple clips of people successfully honking their horns AND braking/avoiding collisions proving that it’s possible to do both.

When people ask if I miss driving truck, I easily say No! I might miss some of the places I used to go, but people are just driving worse and worse.

@@JohnyComeLately I have my theories about that, we live in the It’s all about me world now, and with the influx of foreign drivers, using the road rules from their native countries, it will only get worse until someone with a brain starts taking this stuff on in an intelligent way, not gonna happen any time soon I’m afraid.

Same, I drove for Uber for a number of years. I have career job now with full benefits about a 5 minute drive from home, I rarely get on the highway anymore during my off time.

@@rogerwilco2 here in Australia we have a relatively thorough driving test, it doesn't stop all the idiots on the road, they drive perfectly during the test and afterwards they just don't care, although a lot of bad drivers are boomers and older who just had to drive up the street and back for their test.

I wouldn't agree with 'anything larger than a Corolla', but it sure as hell sure be the case with modern day pickup trucks. They're just enormous, and far too many people don't know how to drive them properly.

Well there is another way to do it, and I usually see this on fast moving country roads like the A85 in Scotland (local to me) which has homes not in any village or town but out in the sticks, a combination of Hand Signal and Hazard Lights. The hazard lights are warning that there will be a hazardous situation, and the arm out the window going over the roof or to the opposite side of the road tells me direction, so I'm ready to give them distance or some times they will wave me past before they reverse into their drive, in a car park an Indicator does the job just fine In my opinion both were at fault in the clip about 75/25, the Cammer for being a tad too close, not leaving enough stopping distance (25%) and the other driver has most of the blame, not being aware of his surroundings and looking when he started reversing, both drivers had they payed attention or left enough stopping distance then the collision wouldn't have happened (stopping distance might look fine if it were just regular coming to a stop, but if hazards go on, you should be increasing distance and reducing risk simple as. But like I said, the Cammer has the least blame here.

That´s clearly his point when he shouts that he was reversing... And yes, the cam car was to close. I mean it´s not so hard to keep a safe distance between two cars. Simply drive with foresight. That is one of the first things you get teached at driving school here in Germany. And always count on the stupidity of others. 😄

If he lost air pressure, that thing isn't going anywhere. Air pressure is needed to release the brakes. Kinda designed that way so if they lose air, everything stops.

OH, and the engines will be cut out by the computer if certain conditions are met. Overheat for instance. I think a busted injector will keep the more modern ones from running. A good mechanic can tell you all about it.

You can program an RPM limit and a speed limit too. Swift had all their trucks limited to 55 a few years ago.

I’m going to take a wild guess and say the car illegally sitting sideways in his lane to let him know they’re a dumbass and one moron reading a text while driving away from being turned into street lasagna.

Partial fault could be argued, in that the other car chose to pull out and block the cam car's lane, if this had turned in to an accident, but yeah, the cam car had plenty of time to move over (or come to a stop if they had been travelling a safe speed).

Literally, I don't get people that are too fucking lazy to move to other lane and have the reaction time of a snail because they can't stand people go ahead and pull out. Just shut the fuck up and calm down, just because someone pulled out does not mean the end of the world

He was trying to tell him to MOVE because he was blocking a lane of traffic. I would have done exactly the same in hopes he got his ass out of the way so no one crashes because of him.

Proper cars are designed to always have their lights on. My car has the lights on as long as the engine is running. If I want to have the lights on with the engine off, only then do I have to do anything.

We’ll technically it tends to be true that you have right of way for the lane you’re driving in, and anyone entering that lane for any reason needs to make sure it’s clear before entering, unless some sign or light indicates otherwise.

The cam car was only going 26 mph. Not sure what the speed limit is, but the turning car shouldn’t have pulled halfway into the lane without checking for oncoming traffic

Nothing wrong with the speed or coming through the lane, but the driver of the little white car must be aware that traffic will be coming towards them and to creep out as little as possible until they can see.

To be honest this really depends on infrastructure and road design. Stuff like this shouldn't be happening in the first place.

The road should never be designed like that. Multi lane roads should not have driveways connected to them and proper separation of opposing traffic. These videos are full of poor road design. So much design stuck in the 1960s. We have learned a lot about safe road design in the past 60 years, but most car centric countries refuse to apply any of it because of their broken politics.

Rule of thumb, if you’re driving into someone else’s lane where they have right of way, YOU have to make sure it’s safe to do so, and if you can see we’ll enough, don’t pull out blindly.
