In my city, I have come to believe that school bus drivers are taught to roll through stop signs. On numerous occasions, I have been driving along, and out of side streets, with stop signs, you guessed it, out comes bus rolling on through, cuts me off, and to add insult to injury, then they stop and put on the lit up dog and pony show making all of us with the right of way to wait. My problem is that I had grown up in another city and had come to expect this from trucks, so always slam on my brakes for large vehicles rolling through stops. It wasn't until moving here where trucks are not as prevalent, but busses sure are. And they drive with that passive-agressive truck driver mentality, 'You know YOU better stop while I roll through my stop sign...'😂

I think they meant they were past the limit line and in the intersection before red. The other car ran the red as seen in the clip. California and other states give right-of-way to cars past the limit line to clear the intersection after red (including having right-of-way over cross traffic with the fresh green light). Not sure what state this is, however, as in some states, as reported by people in the comments, they apparently reward drivers running the red to have right-of-way over left turning drivers as someone will likely chime in soon enough.

That's not true. They both ran the red according to the law. Turning left on red is only legally allowed on *one-ways.* 21453. (a) A driver facing a steady circular red signal alone shall stop at a marked limit line, but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or, if none, then before entering the intersection, and shall remain stopped until an indication to proceed is shown, except as provided in subdivision (b). (b) Except when a sign is in place prohibiting a turn, a driver, after stopping as required by subdivision (a), facing a steady circular red signal, may turn right, or turn left from a one-way street onto a one-way street. A driver making that turn shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians lawfully within an adjacent crosswalk and to any vehicle that has approached or is approaching so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard to the driver, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to that vehicle until the driver can proceed with reasonable safety. (c) A driver facing a steady red arrow signal shall not enter the intersection to make the movement indicated by the arrow and, unless entering the intersection to make a movement permitted by another signal, shall stop at a clearly marked limit line, but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or if none, then before entering the intersection, and shall remain stopped until an indication permitting movement is shown.

A tip from a Canadian for winter driving. If one has an automatic transmission in their vehicle you can use your transmission Manually and gear down to lower gears to slow down. I have a All Wheel Drive vehicle with a 6 speed transmission. By using manual sport mode with my transmission in the winter, I hardly have to use my brakes at all to slow down in urban driving. I've never seen anyone mention this technique. Maybe everyone knows this, but I thought I'd bring it up, because the last thing I want to have to do is make a panic stop using my brakes in icy road conditions. 🫴🕊🫴🍁

Look at the truck in the right lane, that's what you want to see from oncoming traffic if you are going to make a left turn. #25 In conditions like that, you don't need to see her slide. When you are looking ahead before you make your turn, you should notice what oncoming traffic will be doing. In her case, she was headed into a turn.
