This disease is extremely tragic I would not recommend searching it up it's very disturbing

I have seen a real baby born with cyclopia, so with caution warning it can be a bit disturbing and discomforting. So if your gonna search it up do it with caution ⚠️

I searched a medical website, the longest survival time ever was 13 hours. The reason the newborn dies is because organs don’t develop properly in children with cyclopia (including the brain) and so they die very quickly. Most children with cyclopia are stillborn. Also, the practice for doctors in a case of cyclopia is to prevent the suffering of the child and to provide support for the family when the baby inevitably dies.

I'm a nurse and once help a mother delivery cyclopia baby, the baby didn't last long and the mother refuse to let go of the baby, she keep crying and hold tightly to her baby, it was very upsetting, mother's love truly knows no bound.

1/100,000 feels disturbingly high. That means like four babies each day are born with this around the world.

My mother was an L&D nurse for over 50 years, and she’s told me she’s seen this condition in a newborn only once. After the child was born, everyone (even seasoned doctors and nurses in the room) stood stunned for a moment. The child didn’t cry, but rather moved in a wiggling fashion. My mother told me no one had any clue what to do, as medical school doesn’t really prepare you to deal with this stuff. The child passed after 5 or 6 minutes, but my mom said the atmosphere afterwards was stiff and almost completely quiet. Very eerie

Imagine waiting for 9 months for your child's birth, only for them to come out with such a painful form, and you can't do anything but to wait for them to pass away as they struggle to even cry out their torment.

Even worse, a quick search says that the chance is about 1 in 13k to 20k, so at least 5 times more common than the 100k in the video. Absolutely horrifying.

Human babies born with it also lack noses to make it all the more worse.

Yeah human cyclops normally die right away… so sad

Maybe that’s why some cyclops have horns in depictions, they were simply misunderstandings of the medical condition.

I remember reading up on a study where a Scottish farmer kept on finding his sheep birthing lambs where every once in a while was a cyclops birth. He couldn't piece it together till he noticed one day some of his pregnant ewes were eating some kind of milkweed or thistle plant in the brush, and after those ewes gave birth, he found another cyclops lamb. He claims it was the milkweed/plant that did it, and while I forgot the name of the plant maybe that could be looked into for a compound causing the condition to happen in fetuses.

Must be absolutely terrifying as well as tragic for the parents. Babies with this condition look extremely unnerving, I can’t imagine I’d be able to look into the face of my child born like this, I’m too fragile

Don’t do crack, smoke anything, or drink when pregnant! Make sure to avoid toxic fumes or it’ll be harmful for the baby. Also make sure to keep a kind of balanced and satisfying. This is why we have kids with mental illnesses and deformities. CHECK YA BLOOD COMPATIBILITY BEFORE YOU START TRYING FOR A BABY. And make sure y’all ain’t related or sum.

Our biology teacher had a book about the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster on humans and it had real life pictures of genetic disorders and stuff with babies. It also had depictions of those cyclops babies and it sure was an experience for our class.

I personally saw it and it completely rocked me to my core, I was extremely discomforted and disturbed. That poor baby and family. If anyone it thinking of looking it up, not for the weak.

Being born able bodied with a live and well mother after birth is a privilege. My heart goes out to all the unsuccessful births. The light at the end of the tunnel is that it makes successful ones all the more important ❤

You can find videos of babies like this on KZfaq. it’s extremely sad. They can’t breathe properly and they can’t close their eyes. I saw a video of one of these babies born without a mouth or nose and with one eye. They have the poor thing out on the table, completely naked and squirming around. it’s the saddest thing they let the baby suffocate as there’s nothing else to do🥲

Although what I am writing may seem a bit weird I feel the need to write it down. I just wanted to say that I am grateful that you uploaded this video. I never knew such an awful condition could possibly exist but seeing it first hand really put things into perspective. I am an engineering student and I have my finals in about 9 days and for the past few weeks I have been extremely stressed and have been complaining a lot about how difficult life is. Until I saw this video. It reminded me once again how truly difficult and awful like can truly be and I immediately stopped complaining. This video also made grateful for my own life and for the lives of the people that sorrund me. It is truly a miracle that we are all alive and healthy. As for the families who lost their children to this terrible condition my heart goes out to them hopefully they are all doing much better now. As for the kids hopefully they are in a better place. To anyone who read the entire thing sorry that I bored you with my rant.

I searched it up and I completely regret what I saw but it wasn't Is disturbing to me at all. It was just really sad because it's actually real. I don't know how that works but it's pretty sad that babies die from easily. Honestly I'm not being rude here but it's better for it dying than it being alive. Poor, sweet babies. With all of the modern technology available, one might think they’d have a way to help them cope with / survive this deformity, but I suppose there aren’t many cases to attempt to learn from. More than I would’ve thought, though.

Do not search the photos or even videos of human baby with cyclopsis. It's extremely disturbing. I saw one when I'm younger and I had a hard time recovering from that trauma. My goofy brain will accidentally imagine the said photo and even when I'm at the bathroom. It keeps creeping me out

I've been coming back to cyclopia almost everyday for years now. It's very interesting because we don't realise how much rare mutations people can be born with. Cyclopia and Harlequin Ichthyosis are one of the scariest I've seen yet.

And you know at least half of the cases, the parents think they don't need to heed the doctor's warnings and they still try to save the baby. There are some genetic problems that no "The doctor told us he wouldn't live for more than a day but..." will save your child from death or eternal suffering. I understand parental love, but I also hate when parents make a child suffer just so that they didn't have to see their offspring die yet. At least with this, the child suffered only for a few hours, a day at most.

I heard that babies that have cyclopia are more likely to come from parents with incest genes (i don't know for sure but that's just what i heard) But it's tragic to see babies die that way, it breaks my heart whenever i see these types of gentic mutations

It’s also called Alobar Holoprosencephaly where the brain doesn’t divide at all hence the cyclopia face. Most of these babies are unfortunately not viable for organ donation, due to this condition often resulting in mutations of the sonic hedgehog gene, which is also responsible for proper organ development.

Please please do not misunderstand my words as cruel but honestly, it's for the best they don't survive long. Sometimes I think it's more cruel to force someone to live no matter what. I've seen a real one ON KZfaq, I'll explain what happened in the video. It showed a baby with cyclopia, showed a doctor moving the baby around. And the description said something like "Donate to help these babies!" then it showed a BANK ACCOUNT. And also to make it more scummy, I think the guy stole the video and uploaded it for his scam.

I once saw a yt short that showed multiple pictures and videos of humans, goats, dogs, etc, with cyclopia (which appearantly youtube is fine with???) It is very very disturbing, they seem unconscious but they're alive and probably in excruciating pain, soon to die It's pretty bad

This is quite sad. I hope every mother and every father whose child has this gets the help they need. I hope with modern medicine we can track the baby’s progress and help him or her if it is seen to have developed this condition in the womb, but as of right now that seems to just be a dream.
